The 225/50/16's will fit on all 4 corners with et42 rim's (SSR's). The new smaller profile will take care of the gearing disadvantage. The Avon's don't suffer from heat soak like the 710's do. They are a perfect concrete tire but I'm not sure they can get up to temperature with a single driver on asphalt. I hear rumor the compound has been tweaked for this new size, but you know how that goes...... My current practice set from last year has 95 runs, 57 on Atwater concrete.
According to the specs, and having to guess a little, as the new size isn't listed. The Avon will weigh 5-6lbs more per tire than the 215/40 Kumho. Thats quite a bit of extra rotational/unsprung weight.
