Hi Kyoo,

They do fit. I have a set for my 2004 Mini Cooper S. They're really superb for auto crossing and track racing - which I used to use them for. They're ultralight (one of if not the lightest on the market) and very strong. My set of 4 Kosei K1 Racing 15x7 of 4 in silver with mild-moderately used Falken RT615 205/50/15 tires on them (a lot of tread left), for sale. The two are a great and very durable combo for track and autocross use. If you or anyone are interested - send me a PM!

May not fit gen2's as the rear brake calipers are larger than gen 1's. You can check with Tirerack.

Umm... I think the issue would rather be the R56 front caliper size, not the rear, which are smaller.

I'm looking to get these wheels for my R53 JCW for autocross and just have to get confirmation that they will clear the front brake calipers.

I use these as my autocross wheels currently, but I am not using JCW/R56 calipers. I would be glad to take some measurements if you need while they are not in use AKA stacked in the corner of the garage.

That would be great! I think the most important measurement would be the smallest diameter of the back side (that fits over the brake calipers) opening of the wheel.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what size tire do you run on a 15x7 wheel for autocross? What tire do you run?

Thanks

I will grab those dimensions tonight if I can, if not, this weekend.

I run 205/50 Rival S's right now although I considered the 225/45's. Those are quite tempting.

Reviving an old thread.

I finally went with 949 Racing 15x8 6UL wheels with 225/45R15 BFG Rivals 1.5 a few years ago. Have to run a small spacer (5mm) in the rear since the wheel would touch the rear trailing arm. Very pleased with them.

I found this thread again since I'm still trying to figure out if Kosei 15x7 K1 wheels clear the R53 JCW / R56 front brake caliper. Quick question: can anyone tell me if the R56 non-S and S models run the same size brake caliper in front?

From all that I’ve seen, the calipers are the same, but the carriers/mounting brackets are different to allow the larger 294mm rotors on the S brakes which a spacer might not help with.

Upgrading to R56 non-S calipers is still an improvement due to the larger pads over an R53, but not as much as going to S calipers and larger rotors.
