NER SCCA final event results and commentary are here.

The jury is in - the B38 equipped 3rd gen "Justa" is an entirely capable G Street car.

good read, interesting to hear. i would have thought with the FiST & civic SI moving to HS, the F56 Justa would have been a shoe-in back into HS. any thoughts on that?

Nope, I am deliberately not contemplating that.

I reckon they just drained the swamp in G Street, so now I am left with the alligators.

PS: If H Street starts beating my times then I'll be grumpy, although I must admit that with the R56 I was beating G Street time, so mebbe that's not fair of me?

Here are video's from the final 2 events for the Chicago region. We had a Saturday and a Sunday event this weekend. Perfect weather for late October. I threw the video's up into a playlist. Times aren't posted yet and live timing was down for the event as they decided to attempt to update the software before the event weekend. So I'm not sure on the times. I was proud of my Sunday results and curious to see how I finished overall in PAX. I finished in 3rd out of 9 in my class on Sunday. Only being beaten by 2 WRX's who PAXed in the Top 20.

I still drive too aggressively but am making good progress. I was finally able to beat George Artega in the JCW Mini this last event. I know I finished 3rd out of 9 in the class on Sunday. I'll be moving out of the Chicago region once next season starts but if I was staying I'd definitely run STX next year. It would hurt my PAX but atleast I'd be able to compete in class. The WRX's make it so I don't even stand a chance.

i posted this in the scca forums, but apparently according to the rulebooks the new mini is also in HS (p 175)

That's the R56, not the F56.

F56 was classified in FastTrack, after that rules publication was final.

Pretty pleased with my end of season finishes. I've progressed quite nicely in my finishes moving from bottom 1/4 to top 1/4.

Finished 35th out of 151 on Saturday.
31st out of 155 on Sunday.

I think this is strong for a DS MINI against some pretty high talent levels in the Chicago region. I'm proud of my improvements. Best change I made to the car was adding the rear sway. It was a completely different car afterwards.

Ended up 5th in class for the season. Behind 3 strong WRX's and Mr. Artega in his JCW Mini. Finally beat him at the very last event.

Ended up 44th overall in PAX. My PAX points were higher and higher each event as I learned how to drive an autocross course. I think that is the biggest tell here. The competition didn't change, I just got better as I got more comfortable.

Looking at the overall scheme the MINI would have faired better in GS. It would have been much closer racing for a class win. The Focus ST is still the strongest but it is slower then the WRX. I'm not sure how the r56 is expected to stay in DS and compete. Tougher PAX and impossible to beat a WRX with even a mediocre driver.
