I guess I need to add alittle info.
I go to AUTOX (SM) about 10 times a year and will go to track days about 3-5 times a year. I thought about getting two sets of tires but I don't see that being in the buget this year.
Rims I want to run a 17x7.5
MCS Mods listed in Sig.
So I guess my real question is. Should I get something like the K106 or the H105. Or should I go with Falken Azenis St-615 or Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212?

In winter or for long trips I put on my OEM 16" wheels with Dunlop all-season runflats.

Since you are in SM class you have two basic approaches.
R compounds- expensive and purpose limited to competition, no street use although there are some owners that will drive to events to avoid changing tires. Some tires will allow for some street driving- Kumho Victoracers and some track tires like Toyo Ra or Michelin Pilot Sport Cups.
Street tires- like the St-615 or Ventus Rs2 Z212 or Extreme/Max Performance Summer tires like Kumho MX or even Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3.
I'm not sure why people are asking about using Hankook K106 for autocross use since it is a High Performance summer tire. It's really a basic street tire. Ventus Rs2 Z212 is an autocross/street tire.
Most owners that autocross are happier with the St-615 but it can cost a little more. It may be a little better in the wet than the Rs2. Any Max Performance tire is going to be a bit noisey on the street and as it wears.
Some comparison numbers for 215/40-17:
Hankook Ventus V4 Es H105 $84 each Ultra High Performance Summer tire
420 treadwear W speed rated tread width 7.4"
Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 $94 each Max Performance Summer tire
200 treadwear Y speed rated tread width 7.6" 20.5 lbs
Falken Azenis Rt615 $102 each Max Performance Summer tire
200 treadwear W speed rated tread width 7.4" 20.3 lbs
Kumho Ecsta MX $110 each Extreme Performance Summer tire
220 treadwear Y speed rated 20 lbs
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 $152 each special Max Performance Summer tire
280 treadwear Y speed rated 22 lbs
Pirelli Pzero Nero $113 each special Max Performance Summer tire
220 treadwear Y speed rated 19 lbs

Aaah, the k106s. I've been content with them on the street and autocross course, but Azenis or another max performance tire would naturally be significantly better. I have very limited experience with performance summers. Also, I'm wearing through them faster than a 340 treadwear rating would lead you to believe. I rotated them recently, after almost 4k miles and 3 autocrosses. Some decently aggressive driving on the street. Halfway to the wearbars. (So it looks like I'll get 16k miles out of them, eh?)
They're decent for $50. But when it comes time to replace them, I've already got my eyes on some Azenis RT-615s.
Uh, and yes, they are horrible in the snow.

OK then I guess i'll go with the Hankook Ventus RS2 Z212 then. If i'm only going to get 15k out of either tire might as well go with the one that works better. I guess being Cheap isn't a reason to save $20 a tire.
Don't have to worry about the snow thank god. I don't know how you guys live where it snows I would go crazy.

Summer tire classes (top offers more performance in general)
Extreme performance
Max performance (Ventus Rs2 Z212)
Ultra High performance
High performance (Hankook K106)
If you use a tire for a purpose it was not designed for then you compromise your results.
Autocross, track lapping sessions, driving school events, or any other performance driving activity can be very hard on tires. Using stock alignment settings with not enough front negative camber increases front outer tire edge wear dramatically.
Using K106 for daily driving and street use only would be fine and the tread wear would be OK. For each track mile use expect about 100 street miles worth of wear or worse.
Ventus Rs2 Z212 will offer better performance for autocross but not be as comfortable as K106 for street use. You'll get more noise, rougher ride and shorter treadlife in general. It's certainly usable.
Dedicated autocross tires (R compounds) are usually used only for autocross. For me, usually measured in seconds of use per event each month then cleaned and stored for next event. They are not durable enough for me to use them for fun runs. I use different tires for that purpose I don't mind wearing out. In addition over time and with exposure to the elements, rubber gets hard so if I hardly ran the competition tires they would still be old and out of their prime over the course of a season.
You know you are really becoming a PIMA,
everytime I think I know what i'm going to do you bring up another point and I have to rethink my whole outlook. Ok so heres what i'm going to do. Buy K106's for my S-lites and use those for the street, Buy another set of rims and a set of Ventus Rs2 Z212 just for autocross.
Is that ok with you?

Just remember that Hankook K106 is a High Performance tire.

Putz, that is the absolute ideal situation and what I would do if I had the money. What I haven't said about the k106s, is... They are very livable for day to day driving. They start squealing pretty quickly around the corners, but otherwise aren't TERRIBLY loud, and they feel pretty nice.

K106 in 215/45-17 to fit 17x7 S-lytes would be about $60 each
340 treadwear H speed rated
For the same size in Ultra High Performance Summer tires is
Hankook Ventus V4 Es H105 is $80 each
420 treadwear W speed rated
While this costs more it's also a better tire than the K106 so you get better treadlife and performance wet or dry.
Another way to look at it is what is your budget for tires for street use and for autocross use? This would limit what could be considered.
As for autocross wheels.
If you are sold on the Ventus Rs2 Z212 then first check the sizes it comes it that might work for autocross and then check what rims are cheap and light that might work and still fit your suspension requirements and brakes.
Tire sizes:
205/50-15 $77 fits 5.5-7.5" rims,86 load rated,
19.5 lbs, tread width 7.2",23.1" outer tire diameter
Use 15x7 rim +38mm offset about 12 pounds like Kosei K1 TS
205/45-16 $80 fits 6.5-7.5" rims,83 load rated,
19 lbs, tread width 7.2",23.2" outer tire diameter
215/45-16 $84 fits 7-8" rims,86 load rated,
20.5 lbs, tread width 7.6",23.6" outer tire diameter
Use 16x7 rim +40mm offset
215/40-17 $94 fits 7-8.5" rims,87 load rated,
20.5 lbs, tread width 7.6",23.8" outer tire diameter
215/45-17 $95 fits 7-8" rims,91 load rated,
22 lbs, tread width 7.6",24.6" outer tire diameter
Use 17x7 or wider rim +42mm offset

Well i'm not so much worried about them being loud or how they ride all I care about is how they handel and what kind of tread life am I going to get out of them.
I just got a good deal on a almost new set of wheels/tires for our Mini. They are Rota 15 x 7.5, +40 offset in black. The tires are Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 in the awesome 225/45-15 size. They are about the same diameter as our 215/40-16 V710's that we run in G-stock, but they're about an inch wider!
Driving them on the street they feel almost as grippy as our race rubber. I sure wish Falken, Bridgestone or Yokohama would make a tire in this size. The width is great, but the compound could be a bit better for accel/braking. Our speedo now reads about 5 mph too fast (checked it with a GPS).
The offset is just about perfect although our car isn't lowered (stock springs) so keep that in mind. With out a spacer the tires just barely rub the shocks in front and the sway bar in the rear. But with at 5mm spacer they are perfect.
