2009 RSR Archives
RSR did very well in practice! I think I saw that one of them finished with the 2nd fastest time, and the others were not far behind.
Didn't RSR lead at this track last year? They were fast last year, and it's looking that way again! Get it done guys...

P2 is happening now, but it is under caution.
Good luck RSR!
From the Lime Rock website:
"In the Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge ST class, in first practice Bob Beede and Matt Plumb were quickest in their Honda Civic Si, turning a :59.595. In the second round of practice, at the top of the board was the Mazda MX-5 Miata of Rhett O’Doski and Andrew Carbonell, who put in a best lap of :59.866 to edge the RSR Motorsports Mini Cooper S of Adam Burrows of Canton, Conn., and Trevor Hopwood (:59.873). Also in this session one of the other RSR Minis (the #196) was put into the fence in the Downhill and will probably not make the start of Saturday’s race."
Can't find any other info. Hope everyone's OK!

Update from Grand-Am KONI website:
No. 196 RSR Mini Withdrawn After Incident (Updated Friday at 3:30 p.m.)
RSR Motorsports is down to two Cruise America Mini Coopers after the No. 196 of Owen Trinkler and Dicky Riegel was badly damaged midway through Friday's second Street Tuner practice session. Riegel was coming down the hill at the apex, when another car checked up to enter the pits.
"Dicky was forced wide, and there was no saving it," Randy Smalley said. "Dicky doesn't have enough Lime Rock experience, and that's a one-line hill. It was the worst place on the track to think about going off with that tire wall.
"The car is toast," Smalley added. "It might miss Watkins Glen. We're going to be burning the midnight oil trying to get it ready."

Good job, RSR! Nice run - the cautions were not good for you, but hey - nice one, anyway! Congrats!!!!!!!
Good luck to Tim and crew getting the 196 back in shape for Watkins.

LRP Wrap up
#198 6th place with Trevor and Adam.
They drove an amazing race running as high as 1st. All was going well with an 18 second lead when an inopertune caution came out. The pits closed and it reshuffled the leader board. We came back in 5th and eventually were bumped to 6th on a diving pass at turn one. A big shunt on the downhill the next lap caused a full course caution and the race was effectively over.
As they say in racing . . .' it's better to be lucky than smart ' . . . Lady luck was in the room, but she wasn't smiling!!!
The good news is we FIXED the clutch/throw out bearing problem AND the axle failures that plagued us at NJMP.
#197 14th place with Jade and Owen. Jade tangled at the 30 minute markwith a couple of Mazda's and flattened both front tires. He limped to the pits for new tires and ended up 2 laps down. The day was done for the 197
Owen took over at the 1/2 way point and set one of the fastest laps of the day with a 59.3.
#196 was crashed in practice and did not make the race. Dicky Riegel was driving and was not hurt in a specatcular tire wall incident at the downhill. He was forced wide at the downhill apex by a car checking up to enter the pits. The downhill is a one line turn . . . get 'off line' and you are 'off track'.
Next stop is Watkins Glen and we will burn the midnight oil to get the car ready . . . hopefully, there is no terminal damage to the car.

PS: no way to correct the titles

Grand Am allows 4 drivers per car maximum, but it's only practical to race with two because of pit stops.
The truck leaves tomorrow for WG.
