Any body up for a drive in the mountains? Possibly leaving out of Fort Collins? Let me know I will set the route up. It could be a fairly long drive (4-5 hours).

Thanks,
Brad

Sorry I can't make that one guys...if you did it the next weekend, ie the 1st, I could do it...but don't let that change your schedule...unless you want it to (hint, hint)

cheers

I may be able to pencil it in either way - April 24th or May 1st.

It would be good to have Jon along as his weekend work schedule rarely lets him join in.

You will have a blast. It is long, but a ton of twisties an dsome open sections. Let me know. I have no problem going that, that woul dbe cool for Jon to go on a ride. Let me know what you guys would like to do.

John and Brad, all I can say is you guys rock for being considerate enouth to want to include me. I say, go with the concensus and see where it leads us. If not on May 1st, rest assured that I will be having a Garage day at my house to help everyone get ready for spring driving season, so if the drive is on the 24th, then come on over here for garage day on the 1st.

I have done a lot to my Mini over the winter, looking a bit different these days...but mainly I have been changing the allroad...lowered it, but still have use of the air bag suspesion adjustments, new wheels and tires, sway bars are on the way, did a brake upgrade, rotors and pads, new blow off valves for the 2 turbos, new inductions piping, ordered some Samco hoses that are arriving today...and an APR chip is in the works for a boost up to 307hp and 366lb-ft. Gonna have the meanest and fastest grocery getter in Westminter

Jon,
Sure thats fine. I was going to ask my boss (drives a Z3) and the owner (MCS). Maybe 3 of us can predrive and if John wants to coome along he will know the corse we are going to take and he will have an idea if you want to set-up a drive for the 1st? Just an option.

Let me know.

Turbo? I need more details. I saw some of the work you have done and it looks sweet.

Later, Brad

The turbos are on the allroad, 2 KO3/4 hybrids. I just had Autosport Werks in Brromfield do the chip, went from 247hp to 307hp, and from 260lb-ft to 366lb-ft. It really screams, but if it were the 6 speed, I would be able to get more out of it. I am pretty exciited about it all.

we may be pushing for a garage day on the 1st, there is a huge VW/Audi show just a few weeks after that, and it may turn into a huge detail day for everyone to get things ready for show day. I will just keep my eyes open for what is going down on the 1st...but I think from my end, there is more demand for a garage day...so I may have to skip on this one...but hopefully join everyone for the Conclave in the fall.

cheers
jon

April 24 is my first choice. May 1 might be workable, but I'm not as confident.

Well, I can't go on the 1st now...too much interest on the 1st for a garage day at my house, so I would not be able to drive that day anyway.

So, go for the 24th with everyone...I will just catch some other one.

cheers

Let's set the drive for the 24th starting out of Fort Collins around 10:00 a.m.

Hey Mark where would a good meeting place be for everyone. We will go west out of Fort Collins on Hwy 14. By the way I glad to know that you are positivley not for sure that you will be able to go.

More details to follow.

Thanks,
Brad

Brad,

A thought for a meeting place:
There is a new McDonalds at the SE corner of I-25 and Hwy14/Mulberry. (BTW, also very nearby is the Morgan dealership, we could probably arrange a tour if they have anything interesting in stock).
This location is easy to find, you just take I-25 north to Hwy 14 then go east about a block. And has the advantage of food for the early arrivals. THe Morgan dealer is just one building further east, we could probably congregate in their parking lot and go inside to look at their car(s). (They don't keep a lot of inventory, the last time I was there they had the owner's Plus 4 and a new Plus 8 and they were hoping to get one of their new modewls in.)
I can probably at least meet all of you there, even if I don't have time for the drive.

Mark,
Sounds like a good idea. We can meet there between 8:30 and 10:00. The early people can get breakfast and look a the cars or show up by at least 9:45 so we can have a drivers meeting and discuss the route. A few simple reminders:

Please bring the following:
Full tank of gas
Radios that have sub channels
Food or snacks We will probably stop somewhere in Granby to eat.
Cameras
Jackets (?)

More to come.

Also, I will put together an e-mail that will descibe the route, what to bring, where to meet, and times to meet before the event so that everyone is on the same page.

List of drivers (so far)

Hey Brad,

I'm hoping that my roll cage will be installed by then because I would love to go...I'll also see if my dad wants to go with. By the way we are just waiting for the seat to get in and then the mini heads up to Autosport Werks for the Install.

Anyways, I'll talk to you later.

Bye,
Christian

P.S. Congrats on the fast time of the day!!!

It is on the calendar, will be on 5280 this week, and we only need a flyer for the meeting. The new Membership person will do an e-invite and we will have biz cards for all of you to share with other MINI's you come across...

Hello Everybody!
We just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the drive. Because of the unfortunate fire in the Pourde Canyon the past couple of weeks, we decided to change the MINI drive for the 24th. It will be the same drive that we went on last year starting in Denver and going though Colorado Springs, Canon City, Cripple Creek, Woodland Park, Deckers and back to Denver. There will be maps at the meeting and I will post some more information as it is finalized.

We do need a volunteer to lead everyone from a Denver down to the Springs, We need to decide on a good southern meeting spot in south Denver. The start time from Denver will be roughly 8:00 a.m. The group will drive to the Springs and we will meet at the Target parking lot at I-25 and Circle Drive (next to the World Arena) around 9:30.

From there we will start the drive and have lots of fun. It is a nice drive and lots of opportunities for pictures. Please remember to bring radios with sub channels, a sack lunch (last year we stopped in Cripple Creek and ate at the Park)

Please let reply to this e-mail if you are interested in going? I am still going to do the drive regardless of the turnout.

Thanks,
Brad

Hello Everybody!

I’m sorry to inform you, but I decided to postpone the drive for tomorrow. The weather just didn’t cooperate with us, but we do need the moisture. We will set the drive up for another time and let everyone know.

If you know of anyone that was thinking of going please let them know that the ride has been postposed.

Thanks,
Brad

Now I am glad I am working tomorrow, since I won't be missing anything. I was bummed that I could not attend, but now that the weather turned blech...I don't feel so left out

Brad, make sure to drop me a line the next time you are up this way...I know you are half way here today to loan Anthony the wheel carrier, but I got to work...but when you are in my neighborhood, look me up, and let's go for a little drive.

See ya soon, if not at the next 5280 meeting.

cheers
jon
