WTB MINI under $20,000
WTB MINI under $20,000
Well I was told to post up in the rocky mountain section that I am looking for a mini cooper. Don't care if it is supercharged or not. I would love it to if someone knew a couple dealers in denver or the springs that have a couple in stock. I went to the mini dealership and left more than frustrated. So i'm looking for some where else to buy one. I'm not particular about anything as long as its under $20,000. The lower the better.
I also wouldn't mind working with a dealership or an individual. If i work with a dealership i'm looking to trade in my 2005 pontiac gto. I hope to join the denver mini community very very soon.

I found my car by driving down Broadway and seeing her on a random lot. Before then I had spent much time browsing through every type of forum I could.
At a glance I went to cars.com and pulled up Minis within 100 miles of denver under $20k. There are 23 results. THIS LINK will take you to those results.
If you don't have luck anywhere else you can usually find them in odd spots here or there across the city. If you keep on it, you'll find one that suits your needs.
Good luck.

2003 MINI Cooper at Peterson AFB
Noticed a 2003 Cooper on the used car lot on Peterson AFB last week.
Don't recall the color or options, but the asking price is $17000. I felt
the price was too much considering you can get into an '07 MCS for under
$24000 if you don't go nuts with options.
I would imagine that it is still there and will be for awhile.

My dad bought a new 06 MC for 19K and change. Depending on how you option and bargain, you to can get a new MINI for under 20k. Just for fun, I went over to MINI.COM and built a new 07 for $19,850 w/spoiler, fog lights, rotator spoke wheels, sport seats, MF steering wheel and a color line interior. New car warranty, 6 speed manual, awesome gas milage and a great fun driving car w/tons of personality!
Don't sell new short!!

The guy on the lot didn't know what was wrong with it. The more and more i look at it, the more a new mini is looking like the best option. For $4,000 more i can have a brand new S, instead of a 2003 S. So i may go back up to the dealership sometime this week, and see if they can do any better on my trade in(any tips?). Otherwise i may just be selling it on my own.
As someone else mentioned (in the other thread I think) you'll almost always get more for your car from a personal buyer than a dealership trade in. If you find something you want to buy then list it through the local papers and internet sites (like craigslist). Think of the places you've been looking and the ordeal you've dealt with; if you can provide somsone a good car buying experience and both get a deal on your old ride, then you'll be sitting in a cooper pretty soon.
p.s. I heard on the radio today that Schomp is having a sale of some sort; maybe now would be a good time to look again. Maybe their prices have come down enough to make you a happy camper.
Good luck!

Oh, that was my used MINI on Peterson, and the asking price was only 16,000, I sold it today.
It was a PS/B 2003 Cooper.

Well i found one i may be interested in. Its down here at the Hueberger motors. They are a vw dealership. Went in a talked to them for a bit. They knocked two grand off the price right away. They said it was "on sale." I talked to the guy for a little bit, and he said they could easily come down another 3 to 5 grand if i traded the gto in. Still got low balled, but it was the same amount that schomp offered me. So i'm going back in the next few days to try and seal the deal.
