Octane MINI winter overhaul
The car is back on it's wheels and almost ready to go, minus a few details here and there.
We performed one of our annual tech inspections yesterday and there was a scale available. It looks like we were able to remove 100 lbs over the winter as we were at
(...content deleted as we know a few competitors are lurking here - Hi Pat!).
Here are a few more pics of the final product. The crew really likes the new OBDII connector. We also left the run-flat indicator. We've never used it so far but we'll test it once we have a chance. You never know, it might be useful to detect a slow leak.
New lexan windows have been custom cut from a sheet of Home-Depot sourced lexan and installed with teh new custom "C" pillars.
We are scheduled to test on Friday and race on Saturday at one of the local tracks (St-Eustache), for the first round of the Hankook Quebec Touring Car Series. There are alot of fast cars (with very high horsepower) in this series, we would not expect to consistently be front runners with the current package. But St-Eustache is a bit of a tight Mikey Mouse track so the MINI should be in good shape for a decent result. We will not be able to use all the weight savings in this series as our minimum weight is (from memory) 2,500 lbs. I will have a "passenger" beside me....

You can come to Mosport this week-end, I'd be happy to "reveal any secrets" (there aren't any)
I know that your seats are a direct mount to the floor... just being funny.
Otherwise, I can't see anything "wrong" with that photo... Well, the lines taken by you and the blue car are quite different, and it appears that you are correcting possibly? Just a guess...

Tony, just kidding. Nothing wrong, just a bit of oversteer...
Hey Alain
Are you at Mosport this weekend? Do you have times of when you run. I may come up if your there. I'd like to see your changes. Hey, the intercooler is different.
Thanks Larry
Were you driving in the pic or are you blaming Mandeville.

And thanks for the VIN number. Your car has been duplicated in a few areas....
Can't blame Pierre on this one...it's a family gene for him. For those in the Mazda circles, you'll have seen the name before. They're actually brothers.
