Thanks L-P for the great work. BTW, Things are going good so I'm going skiing next week-end, so you're flying solo for another week-end. Enjoy the beer. (...sounds too much like that stupid show on Speed - Unique Whips - I take that back.) And for those of you intend on criticising me for watching it, just be aware that I only watch it when I want to fall asleep...

Gotta go see Will Castro.....

As a side note, may be we should visit him more often. Nice parts on the workbench....

Unfortunately not for a MINI... (yet )

Free race passes to the first person who can identify the application (I choose the race...). Yes it's an M62. So you can't win if you mention this. Just which car it's going to be fitted to....
M3?

Just thought I'd get the ball rolling....
Speaking of which, we're down 70 odd pounds :-)

So I guess we're due for an update...

Picture will start dissapearing from my threads as we're running out of space.

So I guess the aluminum trailing arms are in. Details here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...=1#post1465296.

So what else did we do....

A bit of welding this week-end.

A couple of cage reinforcements as one weld was a bit eughhh...well could have been done better as Mr. Technical inspector told us last year. So we'll make them happy and reinforce it....

That's obviously prior to applying a nice coat of krylon...

Messy strut tower reinforcement welds. This one ain't pretty as it was difficult to perform. All the sealant in between layers kept contaminating the task....

Seat belt locators. Are you guys sure I'm not supposed to loop the belts through on the small rod ? (Thanks Greg for the advice! Ah! Ah!)

Operation anti-dust has started. A few examples of factory holes covered with round shaped decals to prevent dust and marbles from entering all over. I guess I should have though of this before removing the passenger door window...

Tony, It's also part of our lightening strategy. Decals are a lot less heavy than rubber. Most of them will be replaced...for now. May be we'll save another pound....

You can spot a few more on the door with good eyes...

Rear bumper reinstalled for new tow strap with cut-out.

Aren't these things supposed to be of contrasting color? Why don't they make them in any other color than orange. I guess we'll have to repaint the car now....not. We'll see...

We are getting really close to completing our marathon of putting the car back together.

The suspension is back in, the front subframe is back in, the exhaust is back in, the bumpers are almost all in.

We are missing the windshield, hood, a few dash pieces, the lexan windows and the front fenders.

We are also ready to add a couple of goodies to further reduce our weight. We saved an extra 10 lbs today. I think this is as far as we'll go because the last few pounds are getting to be (too ) expensive....

I see why you might be running-out of money . Very nice Alain! Am I correct that you won't be running with a Lexan windshield? I sort of assumed that from what you said. If you using glass, I'd curious as to why...
