MCS Repeats at SCCA Runoffs!
MCS Repeats at SCCA Runoffs!
Yep, I heard that from a lot of people and those are my feelings also. There was a lot of great racing though. Hopefully next year they move it into September because it was just way too cold for racing all week long. Mid week it was 32 degrees when I woke up in the morning, that makes it tough to get any heat into the tires.
I watched that one on TV
, my first attendance was in 2002 and it had already been moved to Sept. at that point. Luckily the weather cooperated on Friday and Saturday this year.
I hear the MCS gets moved to SSB for next year and will have the intake restriction and weight removed.

What about LSD? Is that going to be a legal mod for 07? I was thinking it wasn't for 2006.

I would be surprised if it was not allowed in SSC since it is a regular production option. If it was not in SSC, I'm sure it will be in SSB since the Solstice can run the ZOK package (handling pkg with LSD).
It was specificaly excluded in the 2005 and 2006 GCS. In fastrack, it did not mention limited slip as being legal. When I ordered my 06 MCS for SSC it was real hard not to order the LSD for 500 bucks. I think the Solstice will get some weight added and a restrictor after seeing it walk away from the field at the runoffs in SSB
Funny, I heard of Pete's succes while over on the Sol forum!

Brrrrr!
Ask around and you'll find that most of the MINIs in the top 10 at the runoffs had motors prepared by Marren Injectors. http://www.injector.com/
right here in Connecticut!
Tim used to prepare Tony Nuzzo's cars for the Grand Am Cup and has built many many Dodge Neon motors for the pro series they had a few years back. He has lots of experience, and knows the tricks to make enough power and still keep it together.
If you're looking to go fast in SSB next year, in a MINI, - call Tim Marren.
