“Televising the U.K. Series here in the USA is the first step toward developing the U.S. series to be of similar stature and success,” said Phil Wicks. “I think that many MINI fans will discover the tremendous excitement and competitive nature of the MINI Challenge in the U.K. and will want to join in our racing series being developed for the American market. We’re very excited that we have made these arrangements to televise the U.K. MINI Challenge Series.” The racing will debut on the newly launched MavTV network. MavTV is a new network that carries a variety of programming themes targeting men 18-49, including sports, sports analysis, gaming, comedy, women and relationships, health and fitness, finance, gadgets, and movies. MavTV is a 24/7 destination channel dedicated to reaching men in an irreverent, humorous, opinionated fashion. Now MINI racing joins the mix of programming that is carried by the network. Times and broadcast schedules will be announced soon. MINI enthusiasts that don’t receive MavTV on their cable system are encouraged to call their local cable provider and ask for it. For additional information on MavTV visit their website at www.mavtv.com. “The quality of the racing TV coverage is superb,” added Mackey Marketing president, Brian Mackey. “This series makes great television viewing and I think the American audiences will love the action and the competitive nature of this series. I want to thank the MavTV network for believing in our product and providing this opportunity. We look forward to a great relationship with MavTV.” Phil Wicks owns and operates the Phil Wicks MINI Driving Academy as well as administering the North American MINI Cooper Championship racing series.

That is about the coverage of the UK series. The US series at Summit Point will be televised on MAVTV but I have no idea what company will be doing the actual filming, my guess is that it will be MAVTV commentators.

Well crap, I can't get MavTV at all. Just checked my local cable provider and no go. Is anyone able to get this station?? If not, I hope Webb records this so next time I go visit Denver, I'll be able to stop by and watch it.

They don't (at least according to the MavTV website)
And none of the cable systems in any of the major markets in California do either (again, according to MavTV).
Calling these races "broadcast" is a stretch, it's more like narrowcast.

The upside of that is access to the pits, track and racers is unprecedented; safety be damned, I was watching and photographing the races at Gateway from about 6' away from the racers' mirrors!
Turn off the tube and go watch the racin' up close and personal!
MotoringFile had a post about this a while back:

S with a high speed internet connection you can watch MAV-TV on VDC (www.vdc.com) . I've been thinking it would be worth the $11.95 a month just to catch the Phil Wicks races alone.
Looks like it might be on at 12:30 AM on June 29th.

On Motoring File there was a link to the torrent for the first John Cooper Challenge race of the season, which is also carried by MAVTV, perhaps they will be kind enough to link the rest of the UK season and the airings of the US competitions.
