Its been suggested that someone should start a new thread for the 2006 One Lap of America.

I'm Dave T -- my co-driver Joe R. (ZIPNBY) and I are a couple of MINI fanatics (we each own two MINIs) and "lap puppies" this year. We are being sponsored by MINI of Peabody and Oxford Motorsports. Our charity is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

The car is basically a stock 2005 Cooper S, except for some Carbotech brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, and caliper bushing reinforcements. We'll be running the event on 205/50R15 BFGoodrich gForce T/A's mounted on 15" Kosei K1-TS wheels.

We had a BMW school at Putnam that weekend (it rained constantly for 3 days...) so I came down early and stopped by to talk with some of the Lap Dogs on thursday afternoon.

Was able to say hi to a couple of the Mini guys, plus I happened to know drivers of 3 other cars, so it was good to be able to cheer them on.

Congratulations to all of you - you guys are nuts!

Great meeting you Neil .... We did farely well, considering the track was slick.

We took 26th of 80 in the morning and 37th in the afternoon !!!

 

Great to meet you, Phil. You guys were definitely on fire at Road America! Joe and I were glad to finish this event in one piece.

How about some pictures of how those seats turned out?

 

I bolted the modified seat bracket to the floor, at a good position for both drivers .... Turned out good

I since removed it for my wife to be able to use it, when I needed a tow vehicle .....LOL
