I would love to come Tony, but the commute will kill me
By the way, I met a friend of yours today, Spencer *** - Farnbacherloles. He is setting up my car. I gave him my alignment specs...he said he was going to check with a guy he knows who races Minis. I asked, "Tony Nuzzo?" "Yes" was spencer's reply. I'm apparently in great company and in good hands.

this sounds like fun. but i've got a few questions. I'm supposed to be instructing that weekend at extreme measures teen school. but, my peeps from work are going to be there pushing our product. if i come can i park my giant truck in the MINI coral? i'll post a pic in my galleryfor all to see. please pay no attention the that awesome guy in the pic.
The no helmet has me worried. Will the track time be lead follow? that tends to be all but fun. Let me know about parking the big truck with the MINI's. I can provide drinks and that truck and tow 40,000lbs if you need me to move a building.

Hi Peter,
Sorry you can't make VIR. But I know you'll make Lime Rock May 27th. We plan on having an even bigger bash as its our home track and we haven't raced there with these MINI's before. MIchael Cooper, MINI Coopers founders son and current principal of JCW drove my #22 car along side me and the #20 car during parade laps at LRP a few years ago during the Rolex Vintage Festival. We were'nt eligible to race.
We are currently looking for sponsors for the Lime Rock event and the rest of the season. Give me a call to discuss this.

First off. Good luck this weekend Nuzzo Motorsports.
Second I will not make it out but I did get in some track time over the weekend. I got to do a track day at Barbers Motorsports park.
Anyway that is the best mod I have done.

Here is the write up: http://magicmini.com/blog/?p=32
Here are some things that happen. A mustang hit the rail,I passed 5 cars on my third run on the track, and I got someone black flagged because they wouldn't let me by. It's all in the write up.

Well, from those who were there... would love to hear your input.
Sound like weather was certainly a factor alright as the race was plagued with yellows throughout. I guess we finished in 14th, in class...
The Cobalts, again, did very well, including another victory. They were getting podiums last year (their first on the circuit), and appear that they will be a force for sure. No, I'm not a Cobalt or GM fan per se, but just taking notice of another FWD supercharged car doing well. With the mods allowed on the manufacturer supported Cobalt, I'm not surprised though...
We are the underdog in yet another way...

Really? The Cobalts did well? They sounded horrid, and whenever there were green flags, they didn't seem very aggressive. Everytime a Cobalt went by, we thought something was going to fall off. Hmmm...
It was indeed a good time tho. Glad I made the 5+ hour drive.
Will be posting pics in my gallery later (the one in my signature).
Thanks again for having us out Team Nuzzo! It was a great time, despite the rain and yellows!

I guess I'll get to hear them in a couple weeks at Laguna... Yeah, they did well again... 1st place, and 3 in the top 5, and 5 in the top 10:

I'll be the first to admit I was a bit confused by all the classes running together at the same time. You say they're first, but from where I was standing (and listed on that sheet in the furthest left column) they were 17th.
I understand better now, but they didn't seem to be doing well at the time. And I still think they sound like crap.

Yeah, it is a little confusing. There are GS and ST cars, the GS being faster, with a few exceptions in most races. The winning Cobalt was 17th overall, but first for the STs. The fourth column shows the class position...
It had it's fastest lap at just over 2:12, and the MINI at nearly 2:20. Daytona was only a 2 second delta though... At Laguna last year, the MINI had fastest lap time for it's class, so let's hope that bodes well in a couple of weeks!

GM is putting so much money into the Cobalt program that they are going to force it to become a big seller. I do not know if they will ever cover the cost of the marketing but they are going to sell a boatload of them. A few areas which they are putting them in the public eye.
Road racing. As we have seen just recently will be domminated by them unless the rules change but most likely they will " spend " their way fast again.
Drag racing . They are already a force in their class.
Show cars . Beleive it or not they are already showing up on the bling circuit.
Tuner cars. They handed out a bunch to the tuner shops and have aready made a splash in that arena.
Auto X . If not now its only a matter of time.
Public events. I was at a car show in San Diego last year and they had an entire auto X course set up and were giving free drives to anyone that wanted a shot at it. They must have had 20 cars and a staff of at least 20 as well.Who knows how much that travelling road show costs. I actually took one of them for a spin and its not a bad car at all. Needed a LSD but lots of low end power.
I am not promoting the car in any way but it is going to be interesting to watch how cubic dollars ( GM ) can make something a good seller wether it deserves to be one or not.
