Thanks David for getting this started!

Would you know if it's possible to purchase tickets in advance? I'd love to come with them in-hand, as opposed to the hassle (if any) upon showing-up...

The price seems very reasonable also .

Let's hope the weather cooperates...

Hold off on buying advance tickets

There is already coordination taking place to secure discounted tickets.

Dave... thanks. I was going to ask, as Tony led me to me believe such. I was gonna ask, but felt uncomfortable bringing it up. Look forward to hearing more...

The Grand Am is part of a long weekend event, a multi-marque sports car show, and MINIs are one of the invited marques. NorCal MINIs (the nearest local/regional club) joined as a co-sponsor.

Check out all the events:

C'mon out! Should be fun.

Discounted Ticket?????????

Any new information on advanced tickets or discounted tickets? I want to attend during the times the MINIs are out on the course. The whole weekend sounds fun. The cost to attend all of the weekend activities seems a little high to take my family...so I'm hoping there might be some discounted tickets for individual activities.

Honestly the more I hear on this the less I think there is going to be discounted tickets. The only firm way to buy tickets at this point is from the Laguna Seca online ticketing

I'll keep you posted as I get more details about whether or not there is going to be a free car corral or not. From what I have heard so far from those working on this, Laguna Seca is working quite a bit differently than California Speedway did in terms of what they offered.

Dave, any updates on a MINI coral, or parking in general? I got my wife to commit to a full day there, but her friend needs to come also, in a non-MINI, so I'm just trying to get a feel for what to expect. Heck, I should have asked Tony when I chatted with him! Thanks.

Ok, we need some clarification...

I just called LS, and after trying to speak with an agent three times (prompts are 1,1, & 4), I finally got some one on the third attempt... I was hung-up on the first two times .

I asked about pricing for this Saturday, just to confirm, and to inquire if they take credit card. Well, after saying no credit card on Sat, but on Fri yes, she did correct herself by saying that one can use a cc on Sat...

Pricing is $30, as of Tue!? Advance orders were at 20... I need to know if this is accurate or not. I was going to take my wife and her friend, but the day is bound to be well over 100 bucks for me now...

That appears to be accurate as they have updated their site. When originally posted back in Post 10, that link went to online ticketing for $20. That has now been updated to show that there are no longer advance tickets and the price is now $30.

RE the corral: as of a couple weeks ago, it was my understanding that NorCal MINIs were in contact with the Marquee Madness folks regarding this. Marquee Madness appears to want quite a bit of money for the corral, so I'm not sure if that's happeneing or not. I believe it was Dennis Fung with the NorCal MINIs that was tracking that (I'm out of the direct loop on that one).

I just found out that we can get tickets for $20. at the Shell Gas station on Blanco and Maine St. Or else it's 30 a head. Kids are free if there under 12.

Shell station address is 1300 S. Main St, Salinas.

I have a feeling that we'll get into the Corral. When we get there, just tell them your with the MINI group. I want to do some parade laps again.

Depends on how early I get the wife up....let's say (gulp) 7:30-8:00am.

How long does it take to get there, 2hrs? Gonna start buttering her up tonight.

Yeah, I already agreed to take mine (wife) shopping afterwards. I guess there is a mall in Salinas... We're going to leave about 9am, so I'm guessing about 10 or so for us to arrive. For you, figure on 2 hours, I would think... I've never been there before, at least not since a kid. I'll do as you stated, and say that I'm with the MINI group. I hope that works ok...

Nuts! The #20 car broke on lap 9 while challenging for the lead.

#02 car is running in 9th.

He was running very strong, right on the Acura's butt daring him to make a mistake. Then the steering broke . I thought I saw the #20 car on two wheels entering the corkscrew a couple of times, or maybe I was just seeing things.

You weren't seeing things! With our stiff chassis... Heck, I might have a photo of that as I took many in the corkscrew...

Damn, I guess I mis-timed some of my photos. Many had only half of a MINI . I did get this nice one of Tony riding the Acura hard in the corkscrew
