ABFTech Division Circuit Battles round 2
ABFTech Division Circuit Battles round 2
So this past weekend we took Big Red to Phoenix International Speedway to compete in the 2nd round of Redline Time attack's Circuit Battles series.
We don't have much footage yet, but here is our win over Tarzan Yamada and the Garage GT Evo X.
It was close , but Dez was able to stay ahead. That's the fun part about this series. Most of the races are pretty neck and neck, with very close finishes.
This was the first time Big Red had been back at Firedbird since it was a drag car. We decided to play it safe and brought the car out tuned to run off the waste gate pressure alone and was only putting out about 20 PSI.
Bad weather Saturday morning and LSD issues Saturday afternoon prevented us from getting much practice in so we raced the car as is. Even at such low boost the car still ran a 1.05.226, which is pretty good for FF on that track. With full power though Dez could have gone a few more rounds for sure.
Despite the rain and Trans issues, we had a really good time and are looking forward to the next round at Cal Speedway next month. The car loves that track and should be at peak performance when it sees it next.
We want to thank the Mini crowd that came to show some support. Always nice to have some fans in the stands, it's much appreciated. We also wanted to extend a special thanks to AZ locals and Mini owners kalvin and Sushil. After we busted up the LSD they lent us the trans from kalvins car and then stayed with us through the night so they could lend us a hand getting the car back together. Those two guys are completely awesome. With out their tremendous generosity we would have had to call it quits.

It would have been till recently. Rado did a 1.03 and holds the record, but still we are very pleased with the 1.05.226. It's the second fastest FF time clocked and fastest time clocked for a MINI . We really want to go back out with the car running right, we can probably get close to the 1.03's.
