RMW and Maitland Imports win at Homestead!

Ian Stewart smoked the field in TTC (despite being on stock suspension). The mini rattled off times within .4 of the lap record in the class and the car isn't even finished yet. Come out and watch Ian take the record in Sebring in June. Ian was 10-15 seconds faster then the other mini's running in HPDE's.
Most people don't think Mini's can win time trials......Ian won and by a lot Congrats to Ian on his win where it matters.........ON THE TRACK

Got RMW?

Ian was my instructor at a Sebring event few weeks ago. I feel very fortunate to have met him and have him as my instructor. I definitely learned a lot from him. Congratulations again Ian!

Inside joke. You'd have to check back in a header thread.

Awesome result!

Great to see the Mini earning it's respect on track.

It's surpising to see how much ground the Mini made up on the Evo in the tight sections of the track in the video. Good stuff !!

That would be great. The more people the better. Most expensive investment in running TT is the Transponder. Darn things are non-transferable (so used ones will always say someone elses name) and cost $400+. AMB has quite the monopoly on that market. I swap the same transponder out from vehicle to vehicle.
Nasa starts the R53 and R56 in the same base class with the same amount of points. Points wise keep in mind every option you check on the vehicle that doesn't come standard takes points. So sport springs or factory LSD count the same in points as a 1000lbs spring or an OS Giken LSD. So in theory you could come join TTC. I originally looked at the class and figured what I could do to a 350z or an S2k it was going to be quite a challenge to bring a mini as a front runner. I think the Supercharger will be a big advantage at altitude in Miller for the championship. Need to spend quite a bit of test time in the car before sebring. I'd really like to see if she can crack a sub 2:30. That's setting the bar pretty high!
Yes as the car sits it's got an alta rear bar and h-sport front. We put the H-sport on just to have the ability to adjust because I really wasn't to sure how it was going to handle. It was a wee bit loose and I think that effected not getting the right amount of heat in the front tires to make them work properly. The Vorshlag/AST suspension is going on as we speak. Can't wait to start getting her sorted out.

Very cool, but a few posts earlier said "stock suspension"? What tires are you running?

That's a bit misleading. It's on OEM shocks and JCW springs. We have some Vorshlag AST coil overs sitting on my desk which came in the day before I left for the event. When I mentioned that it won I said and that was on the stock stuff before we added the coilovers. So yes bigger front and rear bar. But I can't wait to get these on and start playing with them... The downside is it's been 2 weeks and they are still sitting on my desk.

Nice. Vorshlag has great products. They make the best drop links out there IMHO, but only list them for the E36 I think. You should ask them to make you a set.
What spring rates did you end up going with on those?

Have fun and Good luck in the future.

Oh boy we'll be playing with the rates quite a bit. Because of availability of springs were starting with a 450 front 600 rear. Go from there.
