Spring Rates For Track Guys

Hey guys ... I know there is already a sticky on spring rates of aftermarket springs and it can be found here:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ring-info.html

However after reading through a ton of threads it seems a lot of people switch the spring rates on their coilovers. For example the guys running BC Coilovers seem to switch to 6kg and 8kg set up:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-feedback.html

However I couldnt tell from the thread how many of them are doing it more for daily comfort then handling.

I wanted to start a thread in here to see what spring rates those that actually track their cars are using and what set ups they found work the best. So please post up what your running.

Thanks.

I think you might not get much response from this forum as the group here that race do not like to disclose some of their secrets. But I'll dive in and reply.

Currently I'm running KW race coil-overs on my MINI. The spring rate is as follows.
Spring Rates

Front 685lb newtons 120
Rear 900lb newtons 160

You can't just change the spring rates without changing the valving.

This is the same setup that was used in the German MINI Challenge when they used the R53 MINI.

I would not use this on the street as you'll loss all of your fillings from your teeth.

I'm sure others have different set ups Higher and Lower.

There's much more to setup then just spring rates.

Hope this helps you.
