Well, it seems I might have had the problem fixed today. While I haven't yet tried to jack up the car since I got home late ---- after getting my car back from a race prep shop that I had look at the MINI, they found that the right front control arm & ball joint were loose. Real loose...

I had a "clunk" sound when pulling away from a stop and right after I stepped on the brake, as well as when I turned left.

Maybe now the car will jack the same from both sides.....stay tuned.

i'm glad that you found the problem the easy way. the track is no place to discover loose suspension bits. i'd bet you are the same left/right now.

Yeah...I'll say. But I won't mention that I was at Watkins Glen last week with this problem. Oh...woops.

i messed up the mounting of the passenger seat the last (of about 8) times that i had it out. it will be reinstalled tomorrow.

Race Car Builders of South Florida did the fabrication and install. i think that the cage is strong and safe and looks great. a little more work required to install the harnesses. Race Car Builders did install the backing plates and bolts for the sub straps and the inboard ends of the lap belts. they also removed my oem belts and tensioners.

i cannot wait to get back on track.

Very nice ... can I ask how much it ran you?

Thats what I was expecting ... its like $600 for the autopower, if I install it my self, but its not as near compete nor as safe. The Safety Devices one is close to $800 + shipping so your right in the $1,000 range
