Welcome Thread

This thread is a place for the local folks from the central Virginia area to say hello and introduce themselves...

I'm Deb (aka NekoWoman) and I've been living in Glen Allen (West End of Richmond) for almost a year. I ordered my MINI on April 1, 2002 and got it August 2, 2002. At that time I lived in Chicago and was a member of both the Minis In Northern Illinios (M.I.N.I.s - mainly a classic club) and the beginnings of the Chicago MINI Motoring Club. I later moved to DC and was a member of the DC Metro MINIs. Now I'm in RCM (River City MINIs in Richmond).

I love little British cars and have met tons of wonderful people here on NAM.

Introduce yourselves, please!

YAY! A forum for us on NAM!
I'm Samantha. I've lived in Central VA.... all of my life I first fell in love with MINI's at the end of 02. I started collecting magazine and newspaper articles, and all the MINI toys i could find. I started hanging out with the DCMM club in April of 04 (and after my first event, i test drove a CVT Cooper, but was heartbroken i couldn't afford it), and the RCM club in Richmond in August 04... with my miata

I got into an accident in my Miata in March of 05, and put my finances on paper, and my MINI was mine a mere 9 hours after my accident, which was 7 hours after i laid eyes on it. 9 months, and 26,500 miles later, i still can't get enough of my MINI

I can only assume there must have been some political reason why this forum wasn't titled "River City MINIs".

HI i'm new here

Hello. I am moving to Williamsburg, VA from Albuquerque, NM in January to go to school at William and Mary. I absolutely love my Mini. I love to go to track events. I am totally entranced by the whole car scene! I live for Formula 1 and basically anything else that has to do with Ferraris! I look forward to meeting the Virginia Mini people.

Hello MC40. Unfortunately no one really seems to use this section. You are the
first person to post on it in almost a year.I think youll like Va.
andWand M. There are two clubs you can check out. rivercityminis.org and
hrminis.com. Rivercityminis is out of Richmond, and hriminis is the Hampton roads area, that is the one youll be closest to. Its a very active club.As for racing checkout Virginia international Raceway. Hope this helps and welcome
in advance. Christian

Thanks for posting the two clubs local to Richmond and Hampton Roads. I have a house in both places. As a matter of fact, they race at the Naval Base right across from my house. I can't wait to go over an try my new toy out. Maybe I'll get to meet you all this year at one club event or the other.

Hey, MC40, I was at a BMWCCA event at VIR yesterday, and saw your favorite animal--the prancing horse of course ;-) and a few of its stablemates.

Here are some pics!

P.S. I feel sorry for forums with no posts, too! ;-)
