R61 Strut replacement
Strut replacement
Hi all,
I just crossed the 124 k mark. My Paceman hits even the smallest bump hard and bounces. Pretty sure the struts need replaced. I got an estimate from local mini dealership and was quoted over 5 k. Does that sound reasonable? Online the struts themselves seem around 250 per. What am I missing?

Good grief!
A set of quality shocks can run just shy of $400. And then if you want performance shocks, you’re only going to dole out $1100.

Add a couple hundred for mounts and bolts:

How handy are you in the garage? Swapping struts isn’t particularly difficult.

I replaced my OEM shocks with KONI FSDs a while back. Now they're called something else, but they did a great job transforming the ride, and didn't cost anything near $5k! Steer clear of the stealership!
