R61 Just ordered
I went in to final spec my Countryman and do all of the paperwork for the order yesterday and just had to check out the Paceman while I was there. One big plus for me is the door. The door is bigger and it is easier for driver and front passenger to get in and out of than the Countryman.
Negative, never park next to one if you don't want dings in your doors.
Not quite as bad as a 70's Monte Carlo but thye are long when opened.
I liked it for me, but to an earlier post I also need to think about my furry firends. They will perfer thier own door and window I can crack in the back seat.
Also it comes in better colors, but in profile it looks too much like the Landrover Evoque's that sat across the street at their sister dealership.

My wife has the Countryman for our 4-leggeds (which they seem to love as much as she does), so the Paceman is just for me and me alone.

Local dealer has an all-black All4 manual coming in a couple of weeks with anthracite interior and red copper trim, cold weather and premium II packages. No HK sound system, unfortunately, but I plan on taking it out for a good beatdown as soon as they drop it off the truck. Then gotta see how it looks in black.
Traded my 2011 Countryman S yesterday for a 2013 Paceman S in brilliant copper with red copper lounge leather interior, xenons, comfort access, connected with nav, 19" Y spoke wheels, and white turn signals.
It is absolutely beautiful and handles like a dream! This is my third MINI (first was a Clubman) and I have to say, it's the most fun to drive. If you're thinking about the Paceman, go drive it - the suspension is totally different from the Countryman and it feels like a much more expensive sports car than expected. Visibility is also better - especially when changing lanes. Acceleration is better than it was in my Countryman.
There are some definite improvements on the interior when compared to the Countryman. The awful "cup eating" teeth have been replaced in the cup holders. Thank goodness I don't have to worry about a punctured styrofoam cup anymore. I will have to get used to the new position of the window controls. The DSC control is there now, and I've reached for it numerous times already. The sport button is now a toggle in the same row on the center stack. It's actually easier to get to now.
I am enjoying my new Paceman immensely!

Thanks!
Cool! I'm really looking forward to reading more NAM reviews of the R61. It's not for me (I just upgraded to an R60 primarily for the 4 doors) but I'm intrigued by the R60/R61 experiential comparisons...
Pardon my finger - I was trying to show the tabs are flexible. They also come with an insert to accommodate smaller cans/bottles/cups. I'm using that with the change holder right now.
Brooklyn Paceman S
Mine is built and awaiting transport as well. Paceman S, All4 in Blazing Red, White Roof/Mirrors with 18" silver alloys.

You just can't go wrong with those wheels on any MINI.
After having 1 R-53 and 2 R-56's I took the Plunge and ordered a Blazing Red Paceman S a couple of weeks ago. I actually ordered the sport suspension but my MA left for another dealership and ended up putting in my order without it. :( But I drove a non SS Paceman and it actually handled almost the same as my current non SS R-56. My last R-56 and my R-53 both had the SS So I was pretty impressed with the standard setup all though, I didn't actually look at the sticker to see if the standard suspension was actually the SS Like Mini clams it comes with as "Standard". Either way one of the New MA's threw in a JCW front strut brace and sport stripes front and back at no charge so I'm not complaining. If it is the Standard that will just give me a reason to add a rear sway bar in there later on.

Hey Wildone3c,
Congrats on your order. I too have the Blazing Red Paceman S, All4. Interesting that your MA is able to get JCW sport stripes. I want them also in White, but my MA seems not to know the part numbers. I've given him this link so that he knows that its possible after all. Gotta love our online community.
