R60 Passenger Side Oil Leak

Hi all! I have a 2011 R60 Countryman and I have an oil leak on the passenger side that I can't figure out. I took it to a mechanic who thought it was the valve cover gasket, so I had that replaced but still having the leak. I read from some other forums that the timing chain guide bolt can come loose, so I went back to that area to see if it was the cause but the bolt was pretty tight when I checked it. I took some photos of the area and can't seem to find out the source of the leak. Any thoughts?

Is it an all4?
Are you sure it’s engineered oil and not differential oil leak?

it is not an all 4, and I’m honestly not sure that it is engine oil, certainly could be differential oil

Update to this, I took it to a local mechanic and they were able to diagnose it. The source was the cylinder head oil check valve. It looks like this maybe was leaking in the past and the prior owner/other mechanic forced a hex key into it (it should be a Torx bit) and tried to tighten it up. The shop was concerned since it had been tampered with and quoted me $1000 to extract it because of its weird location. I decided to take it home and attempt it myself. I was able to get it out by hammering in a hex bit. Ordered a replacement valve for $30 and it should be a pretty simple process to put the new one in. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone else who may have similar oil leak.

Please let us know if your replacement part solves the oil leak issue.

The oil leak was fixed after replacing the pressure control valve! Very happy that it was such a straightforward fix.

Rare but i have heard of it having problem leaking. Most of the time its that tensioner. Glad it was an easy fix.

Hi Caleb do you have a part number for this ? I think i have the same issue. Replace my crank seal, still leaking. Looks like it comes from the back passenger side engine. Drives me nuts and there is/was so much oil from previous owner that it messed up my friction pulley. Thanks

Thanks for the info, pics and follow up! Gonna investigate my oil leak with this info. I have oil hitting the pulleys and belt, sending it everywhere. Car is a mess right now. Already replaced the crank seal twice. Originally it was because the belt slipped and got tangled around the crank pulley.
