2013 Countryman S Manual Wont Shift

Hello All, 2013 Mini Countryman S 6 speed manual. Girlfriend's car. She was getting on the freeway last night was in the middle of an up shift and the car stopped accelerating. She says neither the clutch or shifter made any noises or felt funny. Pulled the car to the side of the road until I got there. You can move the shift lever in and out of all the gears without the clutch engaged. Clutch feels normal when you push it in and out with the car running. So car basically wont go into gear, just stuck in neutral. I know very little about this car but am fairly handy with a wrench, any help would be appreciated. I found the ends of the shifter cables on the top of the transmission, they are still attached and move the....sprocket? I dont know back and forth when you move the shift lever. Had the car towed back to our garage in the hopes it might be something simple. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

Same thing just happened to my 2012. Did you figure out what the issue was?

Has anyone else seen this issue? Clutch was not slipping, no sign of any problem.
