Hey everyone,
I purchased a 2013 MINI Countryman S not too long ago, but in a short time managed to put about 1,500 miles on it. It now has 61k miles.
but I am having 2 distinct rattling noises and was curious if anyone here might have some ideas. Unfortunately the nearest MINI dealership is about 800 miles away from me.
Rattle Noise #1
This noise happens when I start the car at the beginning of the day after a night of sitting in the garage - or at the end of the day if it was parked all day.

Happens just before the 0:03 second mark. Very quick, but deep sounding rattle.
Rattle Noise #2
This noise is much more high pitched, and happens when I accelerate. Sounds almost like loose change rattling in a cup holder - but the sound seems like it is coming from under the hood just behind the glove compartment. I checked to make sure noting in there was rattling and it makes the sound even with an empty glove compartment. It is hard to capture audio/video of it since the sound of the engine drowns it out when recording, but it is a very noticeable sound in person.
