I accidentally drive through a lot of water and had to be towed out... no water got into the engine's intake but a lot got in the car. and into the computer.
My wipers stopped working and the car only give me the window explanation point warning sign.
My local mechanic rigged it to start by bypassing a relay under the hood, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me why this works and why my wipers are not working.
Also does anyone know if I should make an insurance claim? I have comp coverage.. should I just take this to the dealer??
There should be a diagram of what each fuse and relay go to on the cover of the fuse box. I know that one of them are a fan relay for when the car gets hot .It will let the fan run after I shut the car off for a bit.I would try an make a claim it sounds like comprehensive insurance would cover that.
the second relay from the bottom is missing. maybe when the water got in, it shorted the circuit and/or damaged the relays. There is a fuse box behind the passenger kick panel. check the fuses there and check with a light tester.
