Please help! I drive a 2012 Countryman and my brake lights won't turn off. I've done some research on it, and have only came up with it possibly being the DIODE but just as my luck would have it, I can't find the location of the DIODE. (I've only looked on the passenger side foot area, is that the wrong place?). I also got info that it could be a sensor in the dash but my parking brake light isn't on just my brake lights. Could someone anyone offer some type of advice? BMW wants to charge me $100 just to do a diagnostic test, then who know how much it'll be after that.

I'd be checking the brake light switch located above the brake pedal to see if its stuck in the depressed position or has failed.
