Dang Battery
Think my battery not holding a charge... 2012 CMS All4.. still on factory battery.. no battery light.. no crank. I can jump it and it runs but when I turn it off, it struggles to start if it even does start.. SGII shows 14V so my alternator is good.. Merry Christmas Mini.. you get a new battery soon.

I'm new to the Mini's, but have the battery checked, sometimes it's only the connections or it could have a bad cell. And from what I've been reading, make sure you register your battery to the vehicle when relaced if it is needed. (I miss the old days, at this rate, you'll need to register each time you fill the gas tank sooner or later)

5 years on a battery is getting close to about all you can ask of one. The other thing that can cause loss of electrical power is a failing alternator or a slipping serpentine belt. Time for a 'turn your head and cough' session with your go to wrench sounds like.

It's only being driven once a week if that since i've gotten my 4runner.. lol.. poor mini..

With both of our new 2017 MINI's needing Registration when their Batteries come due, it will be a pricey repair even if I change both car's batteries and only use my dealer for the reset of the system. [Unless by then I buy a software kit that lets me do that myself]......

I'm not getting loss of electrical power.. it's just not holding it's charge... asking over 5 years from a factory battery is asking a lot.. over the past few weeks i've noticed the cranking kinda slow and struggling.. not the usual cranking.

Parasitic loads on these cars take their toll over the years. We have 2 cars that get cranked once a week and I run battery maintenance chargers on both all the time. Batteries have lasted much much longer because the float charge prevents destructive depth of discharge.
You can get 7 ~ 8 years out of a factory battery if it isn't put through discharge/recharge cycles too many times. Also depends on severity of ambient temp fluctuations.

I cant wait to leave Hawaii and having a big house instead of a townhouse for the same price lol.

BTW, if after 5 days the ambient measured voltage at the battery drops below 12 then your battery is failing or there's a heavy parasitic load like a light bulb that's staying on.
Consider yourself fortunate that you are being given warning signs. Modern batteries offen just chug along and then drop off a cliff and one day they're just dead.

I have a 2012 CM All4-S (Canadian), and my battery is on its way out.
Are you saying I have to get the dealer to put in a new battery? I can't just get one myself
and put it in ?

It depends on which Charging System your vehicle has. Non Intelligent Battery systems just require a new battery, reset your clock and radio stations and you’re set. The higher spec vehicles , or newest vehicles, will have a small electronic device mounted on the Battery Ground Cable that monitors your Battery and works with the Charging System to optimize the life of the Battery and provide a more sophisticated charging system response to electrical loads. THESE vehicles require a reset of the Intelligent Charging System if a new battery is installed. Just look at your battery under the plastic cover in the engine compartment to see which version you have. Jaguar and Land Rover have the same thing, we just call it BMS or Battery Monitoring System. Started for us with 2010 models.

i swapped the battery in my '12 s all4 with an agm battery from advanced auto yesterday. the stock battery in it (2nd one warranty replaced) was lead with 360cca, the new agm battery is 680. no ics on my mini took 15 minutes to replace
