"The oil leak"

Hello, I'm new to minis and just purchased a 2012 countryman all4 and it seems to have the oil pump solenoid valve leak. I work on all of my own vehicles and am looking to get this fixed. I would like to find a write up on this job and have done some searching with no luck. Sounds like you need to remove the front axle to access the part. Wondering if there are any surprises I should be aware of before I start.

Thanks!

my dealer found mine just beginning to leak while getting an oil change ... they had to order parts ... after the parts came, i brought my all4 back and they fixed it while i waited ... about an hour so it can't be a huge job

Well I did a full inspection on the lift today and found that the oil was coming from the drain plug! There was a little oil on the intercooler return line and when I pulled it apart at the top junction there was a fair amount of oil in it? From searching I have figured that this is normal......
So then while I was there I changed the oil and re tightened the oil pan plug. Started her up and now I have a check engine light on!! Gives a P053A code. "PCV heater open circuit", I was pocking around looking for leaks and checking for loose or unplugged wires sooo I guess I'll go back and see if I knocked anything loose.
Anyone else have this issue before? Did my PCV just happen to go out now?
Thanks for any help.

I took my Mini in for a fall full check. The dealer found that the transfer case was leaking oil and they said it would need to be replaced as soon as possible. They gave me my car back but recommended that I get it back in there within a week. I made an appointment for the following week - dropped off the car. The transfer case was replace under warranty - it cost about $1700. Hope this helps somewhat. Sorry I didn't see this post earlier.

thanks for the update, Just make sure they replace that copper washer like in the oil service kits and not reuse them and toque down to spec. That was a close one, could have been something worse

If the head of the drain plug has been beaten up by someone stripping out the hex head, replace it.

Yeah flipped the washer and torqued to spec. I'll replace it with the next oil change.
