Went for my annual inspection today and for some reason the catalyst monitoring and evaporative system checks were not ready. I did have the battery disconnected this weekend which the inspector said could have caused this. Any other ideas? I do have the akrapovic downpipe with delete r but I am not sure how that would effect the monitors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think there is a period of miles that need to be driven after you unhook the battery before all the monitors can reset themselves. At least that's the way it was on my Mazda. Unsure if the systems are the same on the MINI.

 

Drive the car on the highway for about 20 miles.

Unhooking the battery resets the monitors.

 

Put the stock DP back in, drove for a day or so and everything is clear. Passed inspection. Now to put the akrapovic piece back in.
