Reprogramming done. I noticed a change..

After the reprogramming, I get back into my car and I something on the dash looked different. The tripometer is gone next to the odometer. Its now a empty space. When I hit the auto wipers the icon now appears in the lower right corner, where before it was in between them.
I had also noticed this on the loaner the dealer gave me but I thought it was something in the preferences that needed to be turned on.
I for some reason couldn't let it go so I called the dealer and my MA told me he would look into it. 3 days later he calls me and said that Mini removed it on purpose and I have to use the button that is on the gauge.. He said they contacted Mini directly and were told about the change with the new programming and didn't provide any real reason why they did it..

I liked seeing it there for some reason..

If you have a Countryman that doesn't display the tripometer then you have the new programming. If yours displays it then you may run into the stumbling problem and a trip to the dealer is right behind..

Thought I'd share.

That happened to me too, but after they did a software update to the Bluetooth and Connected/Navi software.

I asked the service guys about it and they gave me the same reason.

Our 11/2011 build looks like what you describe as the changed display: no trip odometer in the lower tach display. I'll take a look-see through the KOMBI settings and see if anything jumps-out.

Anyone have a pre-reprogramed KOMBI trace file with which I could do a comparison?

Specifically, check out the bulletin I attached in it. This is by design to afford space for safety messaging/alerts, etc.

Picked up my Countryman this evening…everything I was concerned with was corrected and then some. Turned out it was not the cradle as fisrt thought, then with the armrest with base and wiring. Overnighted a new armrest, replaced it free of charge and it now works no matter what position the armrest is in, as it should. While in service they did replace front pads and sensors, performed the Water Pump recall. I also asked them to look into the hesitation/stumble I get at times especially when cold, not as bad as some others have posted but enough to get irritated at times. They did perform a software update and now she runs sweet…Maybe I gain a little in MPG as some have mentioned after their updates. Happy Mini Motorer…again
