Driver's Window Lost Its Viagra
Put my window down at Metro lot exit to swipe my pass, then did the switch for automatic fully up. And got nada. Just like the starch had gone out of it. Auto down works and I can get it up by holding the switch. And auto up and down works on every other window. Tried turning off the key and letting it sit, just wont go. I guess I'll put up with it until I go in for the chrome fix. Eventually.
This may be a cousin to your issue, but my driver side window sometimes doesn't go all the way down. Sits up about a half inch. I can somewhat force it down with my thumb. This doesn't happen all the time; just occasionally. Bugs me, too.
I'm pulling this in from another thread - - -
Does not sound like my situation, however.
For ALL watching this thread.
For the cooper, clubman and verts there are two solutions that work for this.
1. Easy window position reset.
a. Hold window switch in the down position and hold for 10 seconds after the window has stopped
b. Hold window switch in the up position and hold for 10 seconds after the window has stopped
c. Repeat a
Window limit switches should be reset.
for 07+ coopers, 08+ clubman, and 09+ vert if that has not worked then the car needs reprogramming.

I stand corrected. I had to do it several times. (Maybe had to do with the fact I was motoring and not paying a lot of attention.) It kept resetting to odd up and down combos. Finally got it right.

Got the same issue, when I got my Mini back from the dealer (they'd forgot to order the car with the sportbutton, so they had to retrofit it) ..
Luckily the soft reset fixed it (in literally 30 seconds
), now I can swing by the dealer and fix her car as well, as she apparently had the same problem..
thanks for the tip !!

Look at the window issue post. The anti-trap fix worked great for me. I held the button many times and the window still didn't go all the way down.
Pushed auto up and bopped the window down hard with my hand and it went right on down ALL THE WAY and behaved nice after that. Car is narrow enough so you can bop the other side as well.

Driver Side Window Stuck in Up Position
Luckily, with winter coming on, my driver side window is stuck in the up position. Tried the fix suggested for holding the button in the UP position for 10 sec, then in the DOWN position, then in the UP position with no success. Any suggestions? Should I just keep retrying? Thanks. mh17
For mine, they first tried the reprogram trick. That worked for about 20 minutes - long enough to get it off the lot. Finally had to replace the motor assembly. Been fine since.
