The armrest can't be moved, can it?

No, the armrest can't be moved on the rail.

Chugiakgirl... What phone are you using ? I'm told the cradle for the I phone 4 is due sometime this month. It will be able to snap in to the holder in your armrest which can't be moved. Currently I use one of the front cup holders to rest the phone in and just use it via bluetooh. Even the full rail is pretty limited. I'm using one of the moveable cupholders in the back and the sun glass holder in the front & that's pretty tight. It's all a nice idea but pretty bad design.. Not well thought out! The snap in cradle will get us mini connected and charge the phone as well. Other than that everything else can be done by Bluetooth. Besides that.... Are you enjoying your CM ?

Anyone have a constant whistly sound when driving an S or All4? It's around an F# (on the highest note of a guitar) ;-) Sounds like it might be the turbo fan. Otherwise the car is a dead silent luxury sedan.

May have been a one off. Happened when I was driving my kid home from school, but when I took the CM out last night for a bit of a non-traffic spin, I didn't hear it. Now just dealing with the rattle when I take a hard right ;-) Had a lot of fun last night putting in sport mode and playing with the paddle shifters. Many of you who are coming from MCS's may find this car a little bit laggier, but for me, it's a total blast.

Try fastening rear seat belts, thats were I found my rattle (seat belt unit hitting side).

Annoying "issue" although it works as intended. When you have an empty front passenger seat, the Airbag Off indicator stays lit. An indicator like that should't be lit most of the time (when the passenger seat is empty).

that is correct in Airbag Off being lit. You don't need a passenger airbag deploying when there is no reason to protect an empty seat. There is a weight sensor in the seat. I agree maybe there should be a way to override it but that defeats the purpose of the light.

In my Element, the only time the airbag off light lights up is when somebody or something too light for the airbag (a small child or something) is sitting in the seat. When the seat is empty, the light stays out. I know the airbag would be off if the seat is empty. Just weird to have a light lit up most of the time, as I usually drive without passengers.

Exactly, thats how it works on every car including my 08MCS, that I've ever own that had one, I think there is a problem with it if its lit and nothing is in the seat.

To be clear, it's working as it's designed. I just have a problem with the design. The manual says it stays lit if nobody is in the seat. So it's not broken. It's just dumb.

Black piece of tape might help? That's annoying. I noticed it on my demo drive, but didn't think it was permanent...

It bothered me too, until I decided to ignore it. Now I hardly notice the light at all.

I decided not to cover the light with tape because I want to be sure the airbag is activated with a passenger. Also, when I put something on the passenger seat, if the light goes out I know to buckle up the seat belt so the bell doesn't go off.

I <3 my CtM..I really do ;p

Ordered her, picked her up on 3/18, 2 weeks later had to have the entire shifting assembly replaced as the car thought it was in D1 all the time. **Discovered that Mini needs to consider an engine lock out if the actual key is removed from the key-fob. I couldn't remove the key-fob from the ignition but could start the car without the actual key being married to it.

1 week later my HD radio started to skip...yes I said skip, slow down, rewind and now the Sat radio is doing the same. Car is scheduled to go in this weekend for a new tuner.

Already having a road trip planned to Seattle we went anyhow and just enjoyed the entertainment from the LSD laced tuner. The car was a fantastic ride. Back seat area was as roomy and forgiving as the front area. My 10 year old was very pleased and kept her self occupied with her laptop the entire trip. We had a very near death experience with an annoyed cat in the road (65mph + curve on 2lane rd + cat cleaning itself 80 ft in front of us = stopped on a dime with no lock up).

Yes, I really am enjoying the CM. Seems so enormous compared to the MCS I traded in. There are days when I still miss the little guy, but overall, this is a nice ride. Somehow my Bluetooth playback of music no longer wants to work...probably a setting I need to look at. I typically just plug it in and that way can get the Mini Connected running. I agree that the sunglasses holder under the armrest is a pretty tight fit. I sort of wish I had gotten the full rail system, but I got the split rail. It's still cool though...especially at night when it's all glowing blue.

I am finding a bit of a rattle somewhere...can't put my finger on where it is coming from...sounds like back seat- right side? I do find it a bit lagger than my MCS was, so now I drive it in sport mode most of the time and that seems to help. of course, that is having an affect on my mpg. What are most of you getting with the All4? I seem to be right around 28 mpg. Guess I have a bit of a lead foot.

I think this is what the Fed's require now...

all my newer cars are the same, across several brands. Mindless light on w/ no one in the seat. Req't came in after some of the early problems with deaths in front passenger seats with car seats, out of position passengers, and the like.

(Just quoting one of many)

You don't want to cover it up..I have an 02 Wrangler and an 06 Subaru Tribeca B9-both have the passenger airbag sensor. It tells you if the air bag is working disabled so if someone small is there, like your dog or child, you know it's set right. There's no reason for it to go off unless something large is in the seat. It is intended as a safety feature.

I found that given the right road conditions, one of the rear bucket seats shakes so much that it starts to rattle on it's adjustment rails. I was hoping that it was just the seat belt clip hitting the sidewall, as others had mentioned, when I first started hearing it. I was thinking of stuffing a blanket between the seat and the trunk sub-floor cover board in order to dampen the vibrations.

I went (1) tankfull w/o sport button engaged.
Perhaps it added an extra 1.5 per gallon.
That's another 10-12 miles per tankfull.
Not enough to not have the x-tra enjoyment
with the sport. Still only averaging 23-25 if that.

Heh... my CM started leaking oil last week. Just... out of the blue. The engine at idle shakes the whole car a little now. Time to take it back to the dealer again.

This turned out to be a leak around the solenoid harness for the oil pump. They also updated the software again. "Defect code 10 42 31 59 00. Software update not including CAS. per SIM 12 02 11". I had the software update related to SIM 12 02 11 performed about three months ago. It helped a lot, but things were still not 100% right. We'll see if this does the trick.

Anyone seeing their chrome exhaust tips looking spotty?
