I have had my countryman for over a year and have already had 3 issues related in these bulletins.

THE ELECTRIC AUXILIARY WATER PUMP THAT COOLS THE TURBOCHARGER HAS AN ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT BOARD THAT CAN MALFUNCTION AND OVERHEAT.
Consequence:
THE CIRCUIT BOARD MAY SMOLDER WHICH COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE FIRE.
Remedy:
BMW WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE WATER PUMP FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGANDURING FEBRUARY 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT BMW AT 1-866-275-6464.

I have had my Justa CM for over a year with no Service Bulletins....do these all pertain to the S models only?

 

Some of these bulletins are for both models. But the Recall is for the S (turbo) only. I am not sure about the software error one. I would have to research that one a little more.

 

When are they going to recall every CM built to date to fix the defective thermostats? If ever there was an issue that justified a recall, this is it. Random failures that disable the vehicle at any time. No 'limp home mode'.
If your CM hasn't failed yet, it will soon...
And when it does, there will be no warning, and your car will lose power, and refuse to start. You will then get to listen to twenty minutes of fans running trying to cool an engine that doesn't need cooling.

Mark, are you saying that cars coming out of the factory today still have defective thermostats?

 

My dealer didn't even know about the software update

 

Talked to Mini Customer service and they informed me the recall vin count stops on the 18th of January 2011 and starts back up on the 28th of March 2011?

Well if that doesn't leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling about our car maybe the possible fire that could happen due to ours being built during the recall freeze envelope will!

The recall is for the auxilary water pump which has faulty or underrated wiring to hold the amperage load and can cause a fire!

This seems pretty haphazard and is an obvious disregard for the safety of my family in my opinion.

MINI if you're reading this you may want to step up and take care of your paying customers.
