Thanks TwoWings so far i haven't had any issues. Had the car loaded with myself, wife, dog, the old tires, and luggage and no bottoming out. I have a truck for driving that requires me to tow/haul any real weight. Driveway curbs present no issue at full lock. Surprisingly the only rub I have is the small mud flaps located in front of the rear wheel. The rear tires just barely touch at full droop. I only know that because I had to put the car on jack stands to get the wheels powder coated. Otherwise you would have to drive over something fast enough to almost get airborne before anything rubs.

How's it ride? Updates on any rubbing or issues?

I am in the waiting room right now waiting for my 215/60 R17 - Continental Viking Contact 7's to be fitted. Wasn't comfortable taking the chance on the larger size of 215/65 r17 mentioned above.
On standard 17" split spoke wheels
Will report back when done.

UPDATE

Fit great, no rubbing. Fills out the wheel wells nicely.

Been reading this thread with interest! Thank you all for the great info!

I bought a used set of wheels which already had tyres on it - I decided to put it on to see how they fit, despite knowing that it may not quite work! 245/50/18 (Wheels 18x8.5 ET50). Please see the results in the photos!

The fronts, had full clearance, at full lock, and do not seem to rub when at bump stops, the only area of concern was the strut clearance, it has about 5mm, this could potentially be solved with a very slim spacer.
Unfortunately, it's the rears that have a problem. When loaded, the inner wall is rubbing against the body, and at bump stops, the corner of the tyre is rubbing against the arch. With raised suspension and a spacer, it'll fit, but the tyre as it is, is already flush to the body.
Remedy? I already have a set of 235/45/18s to put on - fingers crossed!

Wheels are 16x7 Borbet wheels and 215/70/16 Toyo Open Country AT3, both from Tire Rack. It also has the m7 lift kit.

What's the ride like?
What's the ride and cornering like? Is it bouncy, sloshly, can you feel the deflection in the tires? I'm asking because I have 17 x 7.5 motegis on mine, looks sharp, but the General Tires (225 x 50 , 17) are pretty sloppy, lots of deflection and body sway.

The lift kit came with Bilstein shocks and a beefier sway bar. That helped with the body roll for a bit. I’ve taken it on some pretty aggressive off-road adventures and it has handled the terrain impressively. Sand, loose gravel, bumpy trails, and today, some decent flooding, it handled it well. Because of the lift kit, and taller stance, I drive it a bit more conservatively on cornering. I hope this answered your question.

Wanted to revive this thread for some input. I’m thinking of going with a 30mm lift kit.

it looks like 225/50/r18’s will definitely work with stock ride height and the 225/55/r18’s will fit with the 2/2.5” lift, I didn’t see anything about the 30mm.

Will I be okay with the 225/55/r18’s with the 30mm (1.2”) lift? Would think so but I don’t want to get stuck with 700$ worth of snow tires that rub, and if I can’t go bigger I might not even bother with the lift.

Did you get the wheels? I just ordered a set of 30 mm offset 17 inch wheels and a 2 inch lift. Getting them installed on the 18th

I haven’t gotten the tires yet but I finally got the bilsteins, lift, and rear trailing arm poly inserts installed, here are the before and after pictures.

Really love the Bilsteins shocks, if anyone is on the fence with getting them it’s worth the extra. Wife said how much less “squirly” her car feels. I don’t drive her car a whole lot but was really impressed with how planted it felt after the swap. Ride is if anything better then before on the stock sport springs. The lift is low key but noticeable.

I’m in the spot now where I took forever to get the parts on and we are past any threat of real snow so I’m considering just running the stock size tires until next winter to get some mileage out of them.

Still very interested in fitment if anyone has insights because it would look so much better with some chonky tires so that’s still the plan eventually.

What do you guys do for spares that run the all terrain nrf’s? She drives a bunch for work so it’s always been nice to know she can just get home if there’s a flat so I can deal with it.
