Hi guys! First post here. I just picked up an r60s All4 this weekend in Seattle and drove it back to SoCal. I'm very happy by the turbo placement in the engine bay so eager to find out what sort of messing around I can do.

I've searched.. a lot. Besides "upgrading" through a retailer, I haven't read anything about utilizing a ko4 or ko3/4 hybrid from say.. an Audi or something of the sort.

If the wastegate setup is similar and the flange is even remotely similar (I think they're the same), then in theory, shouldn't one be able to just swap a good condition turbo in (+ all the necessary cooling, tuning etc)?

Of all the 20+ cars I've had, the r60 seems to have the most under-developed aftermarket community.. unless I'm just looking in all the wrong places. I would love to work to figure something like this out instead of everybody having to purchase a new turbo at retail pricing (or get the internals rebuilt).

Surely one of you kind folk has thought of this and has an answer?!
