I'm guessing you did what I should have from the start and didn't install it. Don't know what I was thinking.

Very much so - the video was actually taken before the major changes, though.

too quiet now...

I have a JCW exhaust (2nd cat and res is still on). Installed the street version of this today and my car actually got quieter...the exhaust is not as loud and the pop gurgle in is ver low/negligible...

i haven't driven enough of it today to tell you if i feel power gains or not but things are too
quiet now and i don't like it...

Any suggestions on how to make it louder? This noise baffel is only on the track version right there is no baffel that can be removed on the street version?

did i make a mistake going with a street version and should've just ordered the track?

thanks for any input in advance on how to make things louder might have to go back to the stock air box.

I'd say without utilizing the cowling to pull air ie. the track version you're not going to hear much difference than the stock air box.

I'd give it some time and let the ECU adjust to see if the pop/burble comes back.

And yes, should have gone with the performance version.

If you want noise, you needed the race version. My turbo screams like a banshee over a header dumped exhaust - it's very loud.

As for the pop/burble, that's an entirely different story. Not the CAI's fault there. That's entirely a problem with the fuel management control. We fought that battle last year.

You can pop off the cap on the end of the CAI and put the noise baffle in its place. I doubt it makes much of a noise difference in the CM.

You'll be waiting till at least November at minimum. DOS is closed for business until then according to the email reply I received when inquiring if these were back in stock.

Pshh, minimal gains or loss of power. Either way $300 not worth it. But it isn't my money lol.

Didn't you have an aftermarket intake? So it kinda was your money wasn't it? . I gained 5 HP with my gen 1 DOS intake. Car was tuned and heavily modded. Was it worth the price? Subjective! No power loss and a nice bit of noise.

Yup and that's when I realized it wasn't worth it. I wish I spent my money towards the catless DP for ACTUAL gains that make a difference on the car. Like I said for minimal gains to no gains is $200+ worth it lol? When anyone can get a DP for around $300 and actually receive gains. But then again depends on what the person is trying to achieve from their MINI. FYI, that's why I sold my aftermarket intake and I slapped a K&N panel filter and I still hear the blow off sound I want.

We saw insignificant gains from the catless DP on all stages. Hell we even slapped a stage 1 tune on to see if we were missing something. Nope. Honestly I wouldn't have believed it if someone told me. Without a tune at all you won't see anything so once you add a dyno tune to your DP your talking quite a bit more money. All for not much gain. Sure they sound cool but we're not talking any REAL power increase.

Not for heavily modified cars. We picked up over 20hp with this intake on a new turbo...

We're on the same team, but just sayin'...

As Terminal said, the N18 reacts very poorly (by that, I mean not at all) to a new DP (catted or catless).

We got better spool out of the new turbo, but no gains.

You are far better off with the stock intake vs the open filter design, though - good choice there.

Yeah that's why I never bought a DP because I didn't care much to add 10-15hp with a catless or 5-8hp with a catted DP. If I had a EVO or STi then I would definitely put one on with good tuning in those cars market.

Now like you said Theta maybe with a good bench tune I'd put one on.
