Dropped "colossus" off this morning for service and exhaust install with the intermediate pipe. Excited and can't wait to get it back.

Should I road trip 800 miles round trip for thanks giving thursday and enjoy the exhaust or use my other car hmmm decisions decisions

i vote burp and gurgle road trip.

i guess your dealer gave you an ok install price. out of curiosity i contacted my dealer a little while back and they offered under what sewell was charging for the exhaust parts but they were just ridiculous on the install price.

I have to say that my drives home have always been enjoyable (35 miles one way)...after the the jcw exhaust install the drives are way way more fun. Sports mode makes the already deep sound even deeper. I am not sure if it is me but my mpg on avg has gone to 31. To 32.3 mpgs.

As for the sound...i was looking for deeper sound not loud and I got exactly that. I am going to do the Militek or other down pipe next year.

Price.. I cant find the invoice but I paid $1231 otd.

i really want to give coopercrap exhaust a try. sounds great but in the video the tips look really off and not flush. http://www.coopercrap.com/r60-exhaust.html
the shop that will install it should be able to fix that right? you can see what im talking about in the first video in that link. the price ($450) of the system is really good for what i am looking for.

Hi Guys, I had my JCW exhaust put on yesterday with a whole bunch of other goodies. Trouble is, it doesn't sound anywhere near what I've heard on YouTube with that loud growl and burble. Mine came with the intermediate pipe and I left the resonator intact without cutting it off. I'm not sure if that's the case but I sure know if I remove the resonator it's going to be heck lots louder...and illegal where I live.

If you got the straight pipe one of the resonator had to be removed (there are 2 I understand) I feel the same way not as loud but def. deeper

In Asia, there's only one large long-ish resonator up front. I had that deleted yesterday and my oh my...in normal mode its just a tad bit bassy. But in SPORTS mode it pops and pops and pops when you back off the throttle. Sounds stupidly funny to be honest.

So I have had the jcw exhaust on for approx 10k miles now. Though it def is deeper and pops/burbles more in sport mode I feel like its not much louder. I don't want it to be too loud but def. louder then where it's at right now. I have the intermediate pipe with it. This is the only mod on the car. Any suggestions on how I can get it louder? Drove the car to 35k miles in one year already!

I have the JCW countryman. The exhaust is disappointing...hardly pops and is the quietest exhaust on a MINI I've ever had.

I have the same but can tell a difference in sports mode. It seems to be getting a little louder? I have the jcw tune on my wife's r57. Sounds awesome!!

Pretty sure I read the 2013s don't pop at all, which is sad.

Remove the 2nd cat. It should get louder.

I have yet to see a photo of he exhaust installed or on the ground. I have sent a few e-mails but have yet to get a reply 7+ days from the 1st one.

They say they will take the exhaust back if you don't like it (- shipping).

Just picked up my 2013 CMS yesterday. It definitely pops in sport mode.

I just had the JCW exhausts installed today and WOW! The sound is amazing. It's nice and snarly without being obnoxious. So long as you limit RPMs, there is no huge change to the sound or droning but take it over 3,000rpm, and you are in an Aston Martin. I highly recommend them.

It seems to me that the CM's and the JCW CM Exhaust upgrade sounds better then even the stock JCW CM? Mine does not have much sound at all. This can always be fixed but it will cost ya.

Sound of JCW R60 exhaust amazing - a must have

I had the countryman JCW exhaust installed yesterday and I simply cannot believe how amazing it sounds! I don't even have to press the sport button for it to deliver the perfect blend of sporty note and low growl. The best thing is that it does not have an obnoxious note nor does it sound like a cheap after-market piece. It is obviously made to complement the car.

Additionally, when cruising at highway speeds or at low RPMs, you can tone it down by simply shifting earlier (assuming you have the manual). The best part is when you hit 4,000rpm plus and then it really howls! I swear it reminds me of the Aston Martin note on a Vantage.

Total price for installation including labor: $1,293.00.
It took the dealer half a day.

Great info on here! I'm planning to get this for my 2012 MCS, which already has the JCW aero kit. Few questions please:

- Can I get the JCW tips to replace my aero kit ones? Sounds like this is not an option on the kit but wondering if anyone has it that way (JCW aero kit and tips with JCW engraving).

- I was quoted $1470 including $250 for labor for the 2 parts, by MINI of Stevens Creek, CA. Does that sound reasonable? The price in post above is cheaper but maybe due to location?

Thanks!!!

Thanks for the info. Crazy that its a different price for me, especially since its just 2 parts so can't go wrong with pricing.
