R59 Paddle shifters inop, any suggestions?
Paddle shifters inop, any suggestions?
Hey all, I have a '14 Roadster I just purchased. As the title says, the paddle shifters do nothing. I can go into manual mode with the floor shifter and shift up and down no problem at all.
I hooked up my OBD and it returned no faults. Everything else works perfectly (fuse-wise) in the car....I thought the paddles might be fused, but the diagrams don't mention them.
Looking for any ideas or help before I take the plunge to Mini. My thanks to all that reply!

Well I can't think of too many reason, thinking out loud, maybe it's:
- Cable is cut or disconnected.
- Steering wheel was changed/upgraded in the past but the car never was wired for this option or was never programmed for paddle shifter.
I don't know if there are much electronic in the steering wheel with paddle shifters. I've replaced the steering wheel once. It's not too hard to do if just to understand the parts and see if it's upstream or downstream where the problem resided...

Thanks for the reply! It has option code S2XA (Sport Leather steering wheel w/ shift paddles), but of course I don't know if the steering wheel itself has ever been changed. Can't imagine it has, but even in that regard whether they were reconnected. Stranger things have happened I guess.
