Hey guys...first time poster here. I have a 13’ Roadster, 39K miles, that I’ve had for just over two years. Recently, my driver’s side door lock latch stopped raising up. The door still locks/unlocks fine but I can hear something rattling inside the door.
1. Is it a simple fix with a small assembly or does the whole assembly need replacing?
2. Any leads on what part might be replaced?
Then, unrelated, I’ve read a lot from other forums about the Torque Arm Insert from NM. Also a simple fix? Thanks!
removing the interior door card is pretty straightforward. Just take your time ... there will be a few screws and wire connections for the windows, electric loks and speakers but they unplug. A plastic 'trim tool' to pop the hidden fasteners helps but a paint scraper/putty knife or even a butter knife will get the job done. With the card off you can see the mechanism. It is possible the button just got unscrewed. If this is the case it is easy to reattach.
Thats a good diy place, bookmark that for future use. I would also check and make sure it mounted in place and it looks physically like this and nothing popped out of place. The actuator itself gets weak over time and can lock but will not unlock.
