New R59S Owner, 100% British Garage
So my wife bought a 2014 Cooper back in March, fantastic deal, fantastic car. She immediately decided new wheels were in order, and after just that change, the car sucked me into mini-mania, I was instantly in love. So I set out and searched, ultimately finding my R59 yesterday, which we bought today. Here are the 4 wheel toys (there are 2 british bikes in the garage as well).

So, a few things are installed now:
P3 Dash OBD Gauge
JB+
VIP Heatshield
VIP Intake
I've got about 700 miles on it and loving every minute of it I was busy doing some "training" of the JB+ and remembered the P3 has a built in 0-60 timer, hehehe.
Best Time: 6.08, most times fall in the 6.2x range.
Is the P3 timer actually accurate?! In this video they clicked off a 5.9 0-60 with a GP2. So thats ~250lbs less, with V700s vs my stock runflats, manual vs auto, jcw turbo vs S, seems fishy to me.
If so, I'm a bit shocked because all the reviews I've found have it significantly slower than that. I can't wait to see what happens when the S42 Turbo, Wagner Comp, and meth kit are installed

My understanding is you have an S and not a JCW. So, you lack the goodies we paid a $7K premium to start to play..... major engine upgrades, clutch, suspension and much more.
This is a big difference no matter the mods you installed.

Exactly my point, unless the JB+ truly adds enough power to an S to make it equivalent to a JCW power output, I'm dubious of the P3 0-60 timer. I shouldn't be able to better the 0-60 of a JCW, but According to the gauge I am.
From what I've read the only difference mechanically for a Base JCW is a 41mm compressor vs 37mm, exhaust after the DP, and intake tube diameter to match compressor inlet.
There are two possibilities I'm not sure about, JCW turbo swap by PO or a JCW stage 1 was installed by PO and he removed and sold the exhaust when trading the car in. There are a few aftermarket items left on the car that I've found, so, I don't entirely know what's been done.
Anyway, while 6.08 might not be totally accurate, at least it's a baseline metric I can compare against as the build progresses. More goodies arrived!

The JCW engine is not just about the bigger turbo but also ...... stronger pistons, larger valve train, ECU factory settings and some other stuff I may forget.
About the other drivetrain bits......... the brakes and the heavy clutch. They are major assets to enjoy the package and provide performance.
Good luck in your project.

The head is identical on late model n18 JCW and S as well, from what I've read. So really it's turbo, slightly lower comp, exhaust and tune regarding the motor. The JCW as a package is still a great deal though you all the other things for less than doing it with aftermarket parts, a lot less!
If a JCW R59 were available I'd have gone that route, the slow sales when new means there are precious few on the market now with low miles.
