Car cover recommendations?

Hey all -

My Cooper Roadster has made it through the Panama Canal, and is expected to arrive at my dealer next week. Question: Since I won't always be able to get it into the garage, I'm planning to get a car cover for it. The Clubman cover I was able to get from MINI, but I don't see that they offer one for the Roadster. Looking for suggestions from those of you who've got experience with this . . .

Thanks!

No experience with covers but do have a resource. Someone posted a question like this just a day or two ago. I'll give you the same links I did for the other.
http://www.griotsgarage.com/category.../car+covers.do
The Griot's catalog, until recently showed a MINI peeking out from under one of the covers.
Also if hail is a concern:

Hope this helps.

Try searching and seeing if there are any that will work for your vehicle here.

I've had this one for the 2+ years of ownership and have been extremely happy with it. Perfect fit, dust proof, and very gentle on the finish.

Note that the DUSTOP is an indoor fabric; I use it in the garage to protect the car from dust, cats, etc. It will not meet your outdoor requirements; however, there are other options at this site that may fit the bill. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I used my wife's F55 Cover and the Coupe Car cover on my 2015 JCW Roadster.

The Coupe Car Cover is form fitting and comes with a carrying case when you are done.

I prefer my wife's F55 Cover because the snow comes off like butter in a teflon frying pan. The car cover has zippers at the doors...just in case you need to get in the car because you forgot something...just unzip to get access while your car cover is still on the car.

They do have a Roadster one. I have it. It's made specifically for the Coupe / Roadster. If MINI doesn't have it for sale anymore just look online. Amazon has them.

Car covers can be o.k. and if you're considering one just be aware of one important thing. Depending a lot on the wind, having a car cover can (over time) have the same effect as my wiping down your dry car with a dry towel. It can be very abrasive on your paint and it will especially wear all peaks, points and sharp edges. The cleaner you keep your car the less damage the car cover will do, especially in windy conditions.

Stolen ? Or coming off from the wind ? Because its fits pretty tight and snug. Mine never came off after storms and such.

Guess

STOLEN is not an issue with Minis hahaha Since a lowrider can't exactly stretched over a 67 Impala

You are exactly right. I learned this the hard way on my Miata, which would probably have been better off without the cover. The other lesson I learned is that a loose-fitting cover in the wind is bad. That's part of the reason for my question, since MINIs can't use generic "small car" covers.

Agreed - I've got the MINI "woody" cover for the Clubman, and it's really a snug fit. Need something similar for the Roadster!

That's the one I have. It's the negative of my mini. Really looks cool. The only problem I have with it is the antenna. I have to take the sport antenna off every time I put the cover on.

Do you have a pic with the cover on? Yea, you have to unscrew the stock or sport antenna before you put it one. But only takes a second.

Here it is. The only issue with unscrewing the antenna is it leaves the cover exposed to the sharp little connector nub, and I worry that it will eventually cut the cover. Someone should 3d print a smooth antenna connector cover for when the antenna isn't mounted

I've used a cover for my other car and one issue I have with covers is that they cover the wheels which have a tone of grim and dust brake contaminant wish can easily scratch the paint. One should cut some card board or other material circle to prevent cover from touching the dirt. Just a thought

That is a neat cover I must say

I haven't noticed that as an issue. I don't think the cover actually touches the spoke or center area of the wheels.

To me, the most important thing is to make sure the inside of the cover doesn't touch the ground and pick up bits of sand or rock. I always fold the cover up when not in use and place it back in the neat little mini duffle it came in. I make sure the inside of the cover is not exposed.

all these covers seem "OK", but for the next level of protection perhaps one of these choices:
