Woot!

You think those 37 days took a long time, just watch counting the hours until Friday...

Congratulations! That's great. Friday is a great time to get it - you have a weekend to play! :-)

I'll put up some better pix next week, but I thought I'd get one up quick just for the introductions

Awesome!

We're still waiting for ours, although the ship came into port *9* days ago.

Do you recall the exact date you placed your order? I plan to express my disappointment at how long ours is taking and I think you ordered well after we did, so it gives me a reference point.

Thanks,
Don

Don't loose hope. Arriving at port and going through custom, being checked, and loaded on a truck for delivery is two different things. It's likely you'll get news in the coming few days I would think

That said I do have a friend in SF who got hers not long ago. It came from LA so I would think it would have been on the same boat. I'd be you i would call you sales guy and ask him to track it to know where it is. But I could be wrong. I think hers came on dec 7th. We're the 17 now so yours might have arrived a week after... Do you know when it arrived at port?

Correction, She got hers on the 7th so it probably arrived in LA 5 to 10 days before that...

The ship was in port on the 8th. I don't think it took this long even in the Midwest, when the truck had to cross half the country. From Long Beach to San Diego is a pretty quick trip! :-)

Combined with about 25 days elapsing from order to production, and this has been one of our slowest MINI delivery's yet. (and we placed the order with about a day to spare for that build slot *in theory* being too far along to change.)

Going to bug our MA some more! :-)

He's got to be paid for doing something!

btw, I was in San Diego last September. We loved the town! It was our first time. We went there for a friend's birthday. . . I've been depressed ever since . . . and the weather around here isn't helping now.

We moved here a few years back from the midwest, and we really love it! Great size for a city, and the climate is amazing near the coast. It's a great place to own a Roadster - I think we had the top up on ours maybe once. :-)

Ordered mine on November 3rd. It hit the port on December 9th and was ready for me to pick up on the 10th. Bad weather and Bronchitis pushed my pick up to the 12th.

Hey LiquidBreadMan....Rudy's been with you nearly 3 months...can you give us your impressions of your first MINI? Mine's gotta be one of the last "in line" as it still shows "Scheduled for Production #112". Our R59 S too will have the Steptronic Auto w/ paddle shifters. Help me live vicariously through your initial experiences with Rudy please!

Update....Now Status "150" - In Production

YaHoo!

Just called the MINI Customer Service # (866-275-6464) as my Owner's Lounge status has been "112" - Scheduled for Production since our order date 2/24. Given previous info that 4/1 was end of production..was expecting they'd be getting on with building our Roadster.

Amber was great and could tell me it started production this past Wednesday (3/4) with an expected completion date of next Friday...which oops...is 3/13....Hope I'm not superstitious!

Maybe if we catch the "first boat" out of Bremerhaven, an end of March delivery may be feasible...have asked my MA about March incentives that would apply....

Congratulations Rick. I'm sure it all seems much more real now.

With a 3/13 completion at the factory, expect 3-5 days to get loaded on the boat in Southhampton, a 10-day transit to Baltimore, 3 days of conditioning and check-out at the VDC there, a couple of days for shipping from Baltimore to Des Moines, and then at least 2 or 3 days at Willis for them to complete the dealer prep and any dealer-installed options. An early April delivery is probably a bit more realistic...but if the stars align properly, who knows?

It's tough to get incentives on orders from the factory, but you might get lucky. They're usually reserved for moving metal off the local lot.

Congrats!

So, Rick's R59 finished production on 3/13 and he's likely taking delivery today (4/22). That should give you a reasonable estimate of the waiting time. I'm sure it won't seem to go as fast as you'd like.
