R59 Plasti dip for wheels
Has anyone tried Plast Dip on their wheels?
Did you do it yourself or have it done for you?
How long does it last without coming off or just looking unacceptable?
Have had tire work done with the wheels Plasti Dipped and did it tear up the edges of the coating on the rim?
I can get it done for a decent price and I have visited the shop that does it. I thought the shop and owner/tech was believable but I would like to find out what you think.
My 2012 MCS Roadster has the silver twin blade factory wheels and I'm thinking of going with matte black plasti dip. The body color on the car is white silver.
I'd appreciate any input.

Like this? Took about 2 hrs. per corner to paint including the calipers. I used 4 cans of Plasti-dip & 2 cans of glossifier.
Cleaning rims when they get dirty is easy. Use a lot of soap to keep them 'sqeaky' clean.
Silver wheels needed washing at least once a week....the black wheels, I can let them go for 2 or 3 weeks w/o washing.
Good luck w/ your project.
Yeah, Just did mine last weekend. Somehow I got away with only using a little more than 2 cans, but I would make sure to have 4 for all of your wheels. It turned out to be a pain-free task, and the results look really good. Just cover up the rest of your car in case of overspray. Good luck on your plasti dip project!

$125.00 and it took about 4 hours. Wheels were removed and done off of the car. They had $25.00 off for August.
The business is a DipYourCar recommended operation. They do entire vehicles as well.
I'm happy with how they turned out and will see how long it lasts. Also, when I replace the run flats I'll be interested in how much touch up I'll have to do after they have been on a tire changing machine.

Yesterday was a perfect day in Western Massachusetts.
So, I decided to try this Plasti Dip stuff.....
Figured I'd start with the tail light rings. They pop right off.

After:

I put on four coats. Lets see how they look after a bit of dirt and some washes.
If they hold up I may do the front headlight rings, side scuttles and the front and rear badges.

They look good Zulu. I'm considering doing the same. I just wonder when I would think I need to stop because it's too much. The good part is we can peel it off if we don't like it.
