NICE JOB! Congrats on your order! I know exciting it is! I ordered a Midnight Black Roadster back in September, hoping to pick her up in about 2 weeks

Sweet! Glad to hear that. I was taking a chance. I've seen the other popular ones in person that have kind of a blackened steel with brushed silver edges on the star (can't recall name atm) and wanted the silver to be more towards chrome. Saw these and realized it was a glossy black and what looked like a chrome trim. Wasn't able to find a very good picture of them so I just held my breath and went for it lol

Edit: Anyone have a nice pic of them?

Got an update today that it just came off the production line - just waiting for it's boat to show up and then she's on her way.

They must really have production revved up.

Order Placed: 10-15-2012
In Production: 10-30-2012
Production Complete: 11-06-2012

Found this - is there actually red on them? It doesn't show up in any of the build/configurator pictures. Going to have to get some black vinyl or something.

No chrome mirror caps? Seems like they'd go perfectly with the black and silver thing you have going.

I almost did the chrome exterior package but it was actually the mirror caps that held me back. For whatever reason I just liked the mirrors better without them. I'm going to buy all the other chrome trim at some point and get it ok there. I'm assuming most of it is just quick swaps of the non-chrome part or that it snap in right on top.

I wonder if anyone makes better quality chrome bits for MINIs, since the factory stuff is mostly just shiny stickers on plastic.

Great news. Be sure to post pictures if you can pull yourself away from driving around all weekend .

It would look gorgeously 'murdered out' with black trim instead of all that chrome (too much contrast IMO).

Congrats though! I drove a JCW coupe before ordering my MCS.

Depending on how easy it is, I may very well dip all the chrome at some point down the line. I like the amount of chrome I've got coming on the car right now. Just enough to look fancy :P but I do really love the all-black on black on black look.

My dream ride would have been a WHITE (no pepper tyvm) roadster with blacked out trim. Maybe next time

I would just order the black replacement parts since they're ridiculously inexpensive, won't chip, and you'll still have the stock chrome parts if ever needed.

Picked the car up yesterday!! I am loving the ride. I am waiting for some dry weather to be able to get a decent shot of it, but here is a camera phone teaser.

I have to ask about the hands-free voice dialing, as I feel like I'm missing something.

How can I set it up so I say "Call bob" and it calls Bob? Currently I can access my entire phonebook by saying Telephone *beep* Phonebook *beep* Call <name> *beep* <entry#>

That can't be the only way, right? This was at about midnight last night that I sat down to try and figure out if there was a speed dial/faster method, so it's very likely that I missed something (I hope!).

This is with the Mini Connected system NO Nav. I'm able to do other stuff though like sat nav and such so I definitely have the full voice command system.

I also have to confess to doing one little fast break in this car to celebrate rolling 100 miles - just a little one! I can't wait to have this thing broken in, the little guy really hauls ***!

Don't hesitate to 'give it the beans', just don't abuse the car.

I've broken in all of my new cars the exact same way; all experienced WOT runs to redline, easy shifting and constantly fluctuating the revs (don't drive it on the highway at 60mph for a long period of time). Every car has always performed beautifully.

Yeah I've been making sure to fluctuate my speeds (+/- 5 on the limit). Luckily the freeway by me is 70MPH/60MPH for trucks so I don't have too many people getting on my ***.

Glad to hear that I don't have to go 500-1000 miles :D I'll probably put another day or two on it before I really open it up just to make myself feel safer :P

Still wrestling with the voice dialing... any tips?

Crappy quality, and needs a wash (waiting on my Prima kit to show up) but here's a shot from when I first brought it home. I've installed the OEM mudflaps since this pic. You can also see the wheels don't have the red on them like I was worried about
