R59 Noise, Rattles, and Squeaks
Yeah, those articles that try and pick a "winner" of three similar cars are a bit silly. And how relevant is an article from South Africa? All the cars are a bit different with different design requirements. The decision as a buyer is to determine which car lines up with your personal needs and tastes. That is about it. Whether a car is "good" or "bad" is really whether it meets its own design requirements well or not.
I'm sure the little 500 is a fine car. I think they are interesting and they seem to be popping up all over around here. It certainly is the correct direction away from the large SUVs and trucks that are everywhere. I haven't driven one, but I would guess it is a bit like a cross between a Mini and a Smart car. I haven't seen many Smart cars on the track, but I have seen many Minis on the track. Maybe you'll see some of the more tricked out 500 on the track.
Cars are purpose built for market segments. So, find the car you like and buy that one. You may prefer one over another in a segment, so buy that one. Someone else will prefer another. The fact we have so many to choose from is really pretty amazing.
The Roadster is a great car! We had a new S Cooper loaner for a week while we were getting some paint work done and I was sooo glad to get our car back! I know I made the right decision. For me, it is just what I wanted. For others, it's the 500, or a VW or Miata. The reviewer's conclusions are irrelevant unless you can't figure out what you like and don't like from the descriptions.
Just make a choice... It isn't a marriage... You can sell it and move on if it doesn't work out. It feels like we are beating a dead horse here...

This might be old news, but I couldn't find any posts on the topic. I thought it was great read for anyone shopping the market.

Edmunds would differ. Rates Fiat best for under $20K, but that's not surprising as there is no meaningful competition.
Personally, I don't like the Fiat 500C, really just a big cloth sunroof, not a true convertible.

Articles can be found pro and con for every car every feature but in the end the op is the only one that had to drive
The post was about rattles noises ect.. Me personally my peanut haven't noticed any noise have noticed the mirrors rattling that's usually my cue to turn the radio down.
I'm pleasantly surprised at how few rattles and such there are. Passenger seat belt needs a place to hide when not in use, but that's about it. It's brand new, but noise level with top up is also much better than expected.
It's been a few years since I've had a convertible, but it was kind of "weird" yesterday driving with the top down with a 30 mph cross wind. The car held the road nicely, but I almost lost my hat.
