Mini Configurator Misprice?

Looks like the Coupe and Roadster have a $750 mystery option that's automatically added. I went back to add rear fog lights to my config and the price went up $850.

RAD,

Yah. I ordered my 2013 MCSC at the end of June & the configure application had not caught up yet from the 2012 to 2013 update. I had a mystery interior & mystery price because options had changed. Some were included; some weren't offered any more; some were spendy. Good thing I loved the car & just coughed up the $. I recommend you call the Ask Mini help line to get their explanation.

BMWR606. You are hilarious. :D

When I configured my roadster in June it was $50.00 more than the final 2013 price. Seems the power top, windscreen and Bluetooth became standard and the Sirius became an option. So, depending upon what options you ordered, the price would change from 2012 to 2013.

It's not a 2012-2013 issue. If you got to MiniUSA.com, select a Roadster S. You'll see the base MSRP is $29,250 and the default configuration is with a $500 option of Pepper white and the price is $30,500. That's fuzzy math.

When you actually go and build one at the dealer the print-out becomes a binding contractual price.

I think its a result of the semi automatic top now being standard and the site not fully updated...but I see what you mean.

The dealer sent me a contract to sign today and it the semi-auto top listed as a $750 option and not part of the base price.

For 2013 Bluetooth is standard, XM is an option and on the Coupe the price increase was $150. For the Roadster the same applies and the semi-auto top is standard and the price increase is $1200 ($750 + 150 = $900 ). If it's standard it should be included in the base price which already went up more than enough to cover it.

Waiting to hear back. The last time they went to make a contract my car had two sets of wheels. Mini needs to get to work on it's flash based web site.

Your dealer is wrong. It's that simple. The power top is standard. The Bluetooth is standard. The windscreen is standard. Chili Red and Pepper White are no extra charge. Sirius is $250.00.

Take the base price of $29,250.00 and add the options from the list of features on the web site. Don't sign anything that isn't accurate.

I agree rdowty,

They do need to work on that out-dated site. Flash is a mess. You might get some answers by calling Mini. I emailed them about a broken link I found for a plant video and they did get back with me and say they had it on their "to-do" list.

That thing must be a bear to maintain. The iPad app isn't much better.

It is a complicated thing to assemble a car on line, but it is what the dealer uses too.
