So as you can see we're in great company and right up near the top. Way to go, MINI. Thanks R&T, this makes me feel good about my choice, as if I need someone to tell me how great this car is.

Other than the Porsches, I would take the MINI Roadster over all others.

Here is another great review... "There is little reason to buy the Cooper JCW other than the joy of driving. "

ugh! showed my fiance the article, he now wants to make peanut a "sunday driver" and get me another car for my daily commuter. i love driving THIS car, it's ment to be driven not hidden in the driveway.

not sure if he is serious or just still wants a clubman too.

Sunday driver only would be a crime. Heck, summer driver only would be a crime. I'm looking forward to a few days of top-down on nice days in the North East US winter with snow tyres on! I don't think I could go a whole winter without driving it!

Get the Clubman anyway as well! We love our Justa Clubman too, it even makes runs to the dump fun.

Miata that low?

Every review I read about the roadster included references to the Miata, generally unfavorably. I'm surprised that it ranked so much lower than the Mini in this review. Although I appreciate the Miata, they are commonplace, I'd rather have something unique. Oh and by the way, my roadster did great last winter - keep driving!

I can mostly agree with this list but...

The Mini should be above the Vantage and the Volvo should be at the bottom. Other than that, pretty close.

Here's my rendition from top to bottom.

2013 Porsche Boxster >>
2012 Mini Roadster >>
2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550 >>
2012 Ferrari 458 Spider >>
2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder >>
2012 Bentley Continental GTC >>
2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Spyder Performante >>
2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster >>
2012 Jaguar XKR-S Convertible >>
2013 Porsche 911 Cabriolet >>
2012 Shelby GT350 Convertible >>
2012 Volkswagen GTI Cabriolet >>
2012 Mazda MX-5 Miata Special Edition >>
2012 BMW 650i Convertible >>
2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible >>
2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible >>
2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster >>
2013 Chevrolet 427 Corvette Convertible >>

I knew there was a good reason I chose the Roadster.

As much as I enjoy having my opinions validated, I don't put any more credence in a list like this than I do the several comparisons I've seen declaring the Miata to be superior. For me, getting better mileage, having a wider power band* (AND more power overall), a bigger trunk, and roomier cabin more than balanced out the fact that the wrong wheels were providing thrust.

*-this was a big one to me. Everyone talks about how much fun it is to rev the crap out of a Miata, but I'd rather get pinned to my seat at 2000RPM than wait for 5K to feel anything.

But there's no gracious way of getting out of a Miata.

The Valet guy at the hotel I stayed at this week was complaining about how hard ti was to get out of the Roadster. I think he was just getting old.

You actually let a valet drive your new born Roaster. Brave, very brave.

I didn't have a choice. Parking was valet only. I was pretty nervous about it.

I hate places like that. I refuse to patronize them. Don't force me to turn my car over to strangers for the privilege of spending money in your place.
