What's up with all the wives getting the roadster? . . . (mine being one of them). I want some daily fun too!
Well it's just how it happened with timing for us... My other car still has a good 2 to 3 yrs in it. It will have to wait...

I'm starting to feel totally out-numbered with all these JCW on this R59 section! Is it just because car enthusiast visiting NAM will be more inclined to go for more power or is it that there actually is more JCW R59 than S or just-a?
And for the record, the JCW is really growing on me. Now I've got to watch that because I certainly don't want to start seeing ours in a lesser light

Anyway . . . Congrats Goes and Rolo-R59. It makes me happy to see increase in interest for the R59! The more I drive it the more I'm becoming a big fan. Those are really fun cars and deserve more popularity!

NOW we need more pictures than little snap shots!!! interior included . . .

3 days after buying the roadster, giving it break in at a local track day. Second over all, lost to the first place by .076 :(

Are you serious? you track your MINI in lieu of breaking in period?! . . . not exactly a friendly broken-in process.

We got the car for the long haul so I was very careful not to push it when we first got it.

Yeah, I dont believe in going soft on a car, if its going to break, it better be in the break in period.

I was reading some rules for a track instruction day somewhere (I forget where) and it said that convertibles had to have a full roll cage, and that the standard behind-the-seats roll hoops like on our cars weren't sufficient. Is that a track-by-track thing then?

Ha ha, good for you young impatient spirit.

I do think it's a good idea to let everything cook a little and wear a little before applying strong pressures, and especially on Turbo engines
But it is probably not a major thing either. Time will tell...

BUSTER got his first spring/summer mod this past weekend. This one I thought about for some time. While I was happy with the Piano Black dash trims, I felt ultimately it was a bit safe and somewhat boring. I saw a few pics of the dash trim for the 2010 Mayfair edition hardtop and just thought that the vibe really fit in with BUSTERS character. Needless to say the Toffee coloring worked perfectly with the interior. I also gave the Goodwood edition burled walnut trim a go but it was just not the right coloring and looked a bit fussy. So the Mayfair trim it is.

Any and all honest comments would be appreciated. I apologize for the not so fantastic pics up front but it was pretty hard to photograph so you could appreciate the coloring.

+1 . Consistency and excellent blend with the interior design; interesting and eye-catching without being gauche or over-the-top. Superb work!

Thanks, Gil-galad. As I stated previously, I tried the Goodwood Edition walnut trim and found it disappointing. While the natural wood was beautiful, the coloring was not. If the walnut was more reddish in color, it might have been a good match. The color was very buttery, as if the color use to be richer but was sun bleached. Not a great match for the Toffee Lounge leather which is quite warm in tone. The one other positive attribute of the Goodwood Edition was the door handle trim that was also offered. The Mayfair Edition had no change to the door handle and was paired with the stock black, which in my honest opinion is just plain ugly. I'm working on that as a mod right now.

The next mod for BUSTER is already in the mail to my tech and I should have it back and installed in about 2-3 weeks.
