Chili Red S Roadster - Mostly Here
Friday afternoon our Roadster arrived at the dealer! Sadly, no service people there to prep it for delivery until Monday.
Yesterday we ran down to the dealer to at least see our new Roadster. We arrived just after it had gone down to the invisishield installer's. So, we headed down there and finally got to at least look at the car.
Due to our schedule, we can't get it until Monday evening. So close!
I at least got to do a cursory check that our order was correct - could see most of the major features we ordered were on the car.
(the MINI website never did show any build details, so I didn't even get that first level of confidence that MINI got the options accurately transmitted)
I've attached a few bad photos I took with my iPhone. Lots of pictures with a better camera will of course be taken soon.

Congrats Island Don!
It must be murder waiting for Monday.
Can't wait to see the pictures and more info on your first drive impressions.
I'm waiting on mine, supposedly it is in production but the mini owners lounge just shows the VIN, color, JCW Roadster, and Recaro seats. None of the other options are listed. I have to trust the dealer that the order is correct.

Usually the Mini Owners lounge will give you the complete details of your order when you click on the "Order Details" link.
This allows you to confirm the order that your MA placed when you ordered the vehicle. Considering that you pay a deposit and have to wait 8 -12 weeks from the date you ordered, it is just nice to be able to confirm that the car is correctly configured.
But for some reason with the recent Roadster orders the Owner's Lounge only lists the car, color, and VIN. No details on the order. If the order is messed up, I suppose you can reorder once you get the car and find out the configuration was in error. But who wants to wait another 8 -12 weeks because your order was wrong. Especially with Open Top season approaching!

Thanks all - based on the "glimpses" we were able to get we're really happy so far with the color and how the car looks in general.
The waiting is indeed killing me! For reference, I was an early member of "Amazon Prime" - 2 day shipping is my baseline! I'm really not patient. If I wasn't so picky about just how I want my MINIs equipped I wouldn't be able to wait for the build at all!
@ny_yankee - There isn't really any big issues with orders being wrong. It does happen on occasion - you can find posts here about that, but it's not like a real risk. It is usually ameliorated by being able to see the details on the website, but as was mentioned that's not working for the Roadsters (at least?). Combine wanting the car just so with impatience and the fear of needing to restart the clock and I'm not the only slightly fretful future Roadster owner!

Don't rush it too fast take it from me. My addiction is new cars. Love the smell, love the hunt, love the research, love the wait. I have had 20 new cars since 99 and 2 come into mind. My 2006 Mustang, I waited and researched and followed it being built. When I was driving it home the relief I guess weighed off me and I said "That's it", all the waiting and finally having her, all the anticipation was gone and I was kind of upset (my sickness) and sold it in 6 months. Then I was in the market for a small car at the time and came across a picture of the dodge caliber SRT4 and I fell in love. I waited 2 yrs. Researched, Followed and Forumed it and sold it in 3 months. Kinda like this roadster. I always liked Mini's and I was in the process of waiting for the 2015 Redesigned Mustang and saw a picture of this roadster...Had to have it! So sit back have a beer and soak up the rest of today because at least for me there is nothing like this feeling. Just hope they dont come out with a different Roadster next year

Also would love some subjective opinions on the Bullets. I know you can't get the Challenge in black on the S but IF you could would you chose the flat black Bullets or the Gloss black Challenge?
EDIT: What (and why) are the 2 things (people?) blurred out in the 1st pic?

I feel you on this one. I pay for my prime account many times over with the amount I purchase.

Had the silver Challenges on my JCW. Really liked them, but hoping the Bullets will be easier to keep clean. Being black will help a lot too!
Had white wheels on my Hyper Blue S - liked the look but keeping them clean was more effort than I wanted.
Based on that I think I'd stick with the Bullets, if only because they are "something different".
The pic has people who didn't necessarily want to be in completely public pictures blurred out.
