Woohoo! My JCW Roadster is being born!

Well my MA told me today that my JCW Roadster went into production today.

I'll have to take his word for it because the owners lounge still says "On Order" with no details as to the build, and no VIN.

So only 8 more weeks and I should be driving home my new baby.

Can't wait!

Congratulations!

FYI, mine is either on a truck or almost on a truck headed for my dealer and the MINI website has still never had anything beyond the color, interior color, and VIN, so don't let that stuff being missing discourage you!

You mean you arent calling 1800-Ask-Mini (or whatever it is) daily? LOL! When my car was being built, I was on a first name basis with them. (they seem to know a little faster than the MA does)

Congrats - my wife and I just picked up her new Clubman S (exactly 8 weeks from order). I was tracking Margaret through the entire birthing process and shipping.

b&WCM,

I see you took a pass on the sport suspension. Will you be going after market for upgrades? I'm on the fence about whether or not to order it

I wasn't sure about the sport suspension, so I thought I would try the standard suspension with the JCW and just try it for awhile.

I could always go aftermarket or JCW Suspension when one becomes available.

My issue is that I live at 8000 feet on a mile of gravel road. I need a little bit of ground clearance for dirt roads in summer and snow in the winter.

Lots of twisty roads here. So from what I understand the best bang for the buck improvement is an anti-sway bar.

b&W, question for you. How long did it take to get your VIN # after you placed your order? Thanks.

My process was a little different.

I told my MA in January what I wanted to order. The dealer didn't have any JCW Roadster slots so he just held the order until a slot became available.

On February 8th my MA told me a slot was available and he confirmed my order and took my deposit.

My JCW Roadster showed up in the Owner's lounge about Feb. 10th. There it sat waiting for production.

On the 23rd of February it went into production, still no VIN on the Owner's Lounge. But on Feb. 25th a VIN showed up.

Still no configuration specs in the Owner's Lounge description but it does show the color, recaro seats, JCW Roadster, Production Order number, and VIN.

Thanks for the timeline. I had a slot open up yesterday and was wondering what the process was like. Hopefully, production is ramping up as we speak
